Dragon Test: test your knowledge

Post by Cold Skin » Sat Aug 31, 2013 2:01 pm

This thread will allow you to test your knowledge of Dragon Ball (answers included as spoilers, so it's fast: you just answer in your head and click on the spoiler to see if you were correct).

Mine is pretty easy and only tests your basic knowledge of the franchise, there's no super-expert questions. No specific dates and stuff like that.
You'll probably know most, if not all, the answers, and if not you will learn a stuff or have your memory refreshed.

Feel free to make tests of your own in this thread, which can have the number of questions you want, be centered around any theme you want or have the difficulty level you want (you can create a super-hard test for the most extreme fans if that's what you want).
Just be sure that the required answers are widely accepted facts, and not things subject to debates.

02. What was Bulma's initial wish before she decided to wish for a boyfriend?

43/50

I got wrong questions #5, #7, #8, #10, #11, #21, and #37, and I never noticed #5 happening, neither realized that it wasn't normal in #37. It was fun!

BTW, the answer in question #28 is wrong. First TB was 21st, last was 28th, not 25th.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

44/50

You say these are easy then what are the hard ones. :|

Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others: They pose as humans even though they have no understanding of the human heart; they eat even though they’ve never experienced hunger; they study even though they have no interest in academics; they seek friendship even though they do not know how to love. If I were to encounter such monsters, I would likely be eaten by them… because in truth, I am that monster."

Isn't that the same thing so you got a perfect score. :problem:

Nah. 49/50 is good enough. Same meaning but not exact.

Thanks, it's been fixed, although it makes the question harder than I initially planned since I just forgot about the epilogue tournament! :?
Initially, I just thought people would know one of the first three and determine all others, remembering we don't see the one that Mister Satan wins, but now they actually have to know that two Tenkaichi Budokai are not seen during the final ten years gap, which I wouldn't have remembered myself!

You guys may take this into account and either take out or add one point to your score depending on if you correctly answered 21 and 28 despite my original, wrong answer being 21 and 25.

Well, everyone has more than 40/50, which is a very good score, so I guess it shows it's mostly things you can easily remember as a fan.
You have a very good score yourself. :)

There are much tougher questions that would be hard to find even for fans. (I basically relied on what I could remember myself, without a need to check things out. If I didn't remember and needed to check it out to be sure, then it meant it was too hard for the difficulty level I wanted: I didn't want to ask people to remember something I couldn't remember myself!).

Tough things would probably be things like "cite the exact day this movie was released in Japan", "cite the exact names of the first 23 chapters", etc... Some fans would probably be able to remember such details, but most of them - like me - are probably not to the level of walking encyclopedia able to say what's on panel 3 of page 71 of volume 13! :)

So I do think it's quite easy and that there is potential for other tests for which we would already be happy to barely get half the points, and people could even come up with extreme tests in which we get 2/20 or 6/50 scores! 8)
I'm really not a fan of hard difficulty levels, but I hear people love the extreme difficulties nowadays if you look at comments from most video games always stating that they are disappointed because the "super-extreme difficulty mode" is still much too easy for their taste... :?

It's included in the Chogashu (Super Art Collection) along with all other Toriyama designs for Battle of Gods, although I actually find her hair to be grey and not purple.
