Last Surviving Fighters?

Post by James R. Cadwell » Wed Mar 17, 2004 1:33 pm

Discounting the non-canon DBGT, which of the fighters from Dragonball are likeliest to still be protecting the Earth one hundred years after the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai? Five hundred years? One thousand?

My assumption was that Piccolo would continue living on Earth and acting as the de facto guardian of the planet once all of the humans and Saiya-jin are gone. I don't know how long his lifespan would be, but he should survive for at least a few centuries. Mr. Buu is also another possibility, since he appears to be effectively immortal.

You'd have to totally disregard DBGT with this, really, since that kinda goes into possible detail (and also tells the fate of some of the characters you mention).

DBGT spoilers:

Buu's been absorbed by Uub, so he's out. Piccolo's dead and protecting / having fun in Hell, so he's out. There go your two strongest and longest-living possibilities. I would assume it would just continue down the Son family line (possibly the Briefs / Vegeta line), as seen by the strength of Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. Then we've also got our ghastly Goku Sr. wandering around as some kind of specter...

Since we aren't counting DBGT at all, I'd have to say, your dead on with Piccolo and Boo being rather obvious choices.

Also the Kibit-Kaioshin should still be alive, and one I have to wonder about is the Turtle Hermit, the nature of his life comes into question during the Piccolo arc, even if the immortality elixir isn't real he's been alive for an absurdly long time it would seem, for him to have been around when Piccolo Daimao was first unleashed on earth.

So perhaps he might still be around somehow.

EDIT: How stupid, I forgot about 17 and 18, they apparently have eternal life if what Gero said is true (about the reason he converted himself into one).

Aren't Tsurusennin (sp?) and his brother Tao Pai Pai also extremely old by human standards? If you think about it, those two and Kamesennin were probably some of the most powerful "ki" users on Earth for generations. Perhaps there's a connection between the ability to manipulate "ki" and an extended lifespan? If that's true, then Kuririn, Tenshinhan and Yamucha might easily live just as long as Kamesennin. They might age into old men, but they'd still be alive and possess their powers.

Tao Pai Pai, in particular has aged well. Though in his case we aren't really given a comparison to how much younger he is than his brother, I mean you would think their ages are close together right?

Then again he could of been born exceptionally later too, it's never really made clear to us. Something odd about that family

Tenshinhan doesn't actually seem to age throughout all of DB, DB, and his cameo in the final episode of DBGT. His face is the same, whereas Kuririn and Yamcha's are both different (although the hair greatly affects their appearence).

Regarding DBGT:

If we count this as fact the Saiyan bloodline obviously carries through, and then you have things like Dende whose old enough to know what happened, Kaiosama whose REALLY old enough to know whats going on, merged Kibi/Kaioshin and old Kaioshin. So theres plent of wisdom holders out there. And for warriors? Again Saiyan line and maybe decendants of Kururin, Tenshinhan, and Yamcha would also show up.

Disregarding DBGT:

Boo and Piccolo definatly would be it.
