An anime villains list that doesn't have Kyubey or Legato Bluesummers on it? Scandalous. :P

Freeza's a great villain to be sure, but I wouldn't even consider him the best anime villain of all time. Of course, that's just me.

...Oh, and this is a pet peeve, but Sephiroth is a great video game villain. Not a great anime villain. His Advent Children appearance doesn't do him justice at all.

I'd rather have Majin Buu on there, but that's just me.

I agree with putting Freeza at number one sub or dub version. He's pretty much everything a good black hat villain should be dialed up to 11. In my books Darth Vader is the only villain that beats Freeza anime or non anime.

I dunno about Darth Vader. He wasn't really evil to begin with. He may have done many wrong things, but his heart wasn't pure evil like Freeza was. Darth Sidious would be better suited as a No. 1 villain than Darth Vader.

I'd place Sideous on equal or slightly less grounds then Freeza. Even though he secretly had a nice side Vader was still plenty ruthless and intimidating, you feared him and you felt sorry for him.

I agree, but it doesn't matter whether his heart was pure evil, he helped enslave an entire galaxy, and murdered millions, perhaps billions, including children.

If the dub version is Grandma Freeza then hell no. I hate that version with a passion. Chris Ayres Freeza and Ryusei Nako Freeza only (also LK if we count the abridged one)

For those who don't want to watch the whole thing:

10) Sephiroth - Final Fantasy
9) Johan Liebert - Monster
8) Sir Crocodile - One Piece
7) Shinobu Sensui - Yu Yu Hakusho
6) Vicious - Cowboy Bebop
5) Naraku - Inu-Yasha
4) Orochimaru - Naruto
3) Light Yagami - Death Note
2) Aizen - Bleach
1) Freeza - Dragon Ball

Now talk about how you could make a better list. Because I know I could.

Even though I don't agree with the list, I'd still put Frieza at number 1. He was the classic example of a galactic tyrant, and he basically perfected the traits for it. Powerful, devious, psychotic, etc. Cell and Boo were all created to be strong fighters, Frieza was just a natural born badass.

Sephiroth and Shishio Makoto are the most badass.

Shishio should have definitely been on that list. Like someone else said above though, I'm not sure Sephiroth should count. He's a great villain, but not an anime villain.

I'm glad Light Yagami, Sosuke Aizen and Lord Frieza are very high on the Top 10 list. I wanna check out that Final Fantasy anime because the sword fighting action and the story plot sounds really good to me.

Freeza is deserving for top 3. But the others I don't agree with. Also I PAY they don't mean the DUB Freeza...cause that's not Freeza. That's F-r-i-e-z-a

Man, I'm always conflicted these days about who's better between Cell and Freeza so one of them is number 1 for me.

Don't get me wrong, Freeza's my personal favorite anime villain, but No. 1 "best"? NOPE.

Crocodile or Light could easily take the top spot. Especially Light since it's rare that an anime has the villain as the main character, and his character was so compelling to watch.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I think Johan from Monster should be much higher on that list... Monster is fucking awesome I recommend anyone to go watch it.

Makoto Shishio really should have been on this list. Cold, calculating, nearly unkillable, and puts up a hell of a fight. Id also liked to have seen Griffith from Berserk. Dude sacrifices his entire army who have followed him for years then rapes the love of his best friend right in front of his eyes.

To weigh in some more on this list, I'd easily put Sensui, Johan and Crocodile above Freeza. Along with the two I mentioned in my first post, Medusa from Soul Eater definitely outranks him as well. My problem with Freeza is that he's a fantastic villain before the Super Saiyan fight, chilling and terrifying...and after that, he pretty much loses all his menace.

Heck, I don't even think he's the best DB villain--Piccolo Daimo is #1 in my book.
