Youd think they would notice the sky darkening when Shenron was summoned for that wish.

Hahahahaha! Thanks so much guys! :D Sorry for the trouble haha I know this has probably been beat to death but...This movie does have a good chance of actually coming to DVD/Blu-ray in America right? I couldn't stand if it was tacked on to another game. :?

Not sure if this was said as a joke or not but someone asked Sabat on his twitter if there was any news regarding a English BOG and Sabat replied and I quote. "I'm too lazy to dub it."

Take that as you will, I'm not sure if its meant as a joke or not.

Yeah...I just don't believe that's real. not saying you're lying, just seems odd for him to say that. :? Funimation would be foolish to not cash in on this. considering they haven't released the Jump Special or the remake of plan to eradicate the saiyans(Except that game)

20th Century Fox has the rights for up to TWO YEARS before they can dub it.

When those two years started, I'm not sure. But until those rights are up and FUNi can put in a bid for it... it's not getting dubbed. Less Fox wants to stop being a bag of dicks and sell the damn thing to FUNi.

God! I couldn't imagine them trying to get real celebs to dub it!

Looks to me like it's probably a half-joking answer, in response to the person saying they're 'too lazy' too look if he's answered yet.

As for the two years thing, where was that said, that specifically I mean? Not that I'm doubting you mind you, Kaiser, cuz I know you've got your sources - just looking for clarification if your able/willing to provide it.

I got the movie earlier today and just finished watching it a second time. Thus ends my half a year journey of avoiding the internet like the plague. lol Since circumstances didn't let me go to Japan when it premiered, I just had to wait for the DVD release while avoiding spoilers (though certain things like like ssjg's appearance were impossible to avoid no matter what). With my underdeveloped Japanese, I was only able to understand about half the things being said, which is far better than the very first time I watched a DBZ movie without subs long ago and understood nothing at all. lol So I then went ahead and read the detailed synopsis to make sure I fully understood everything going on and then watched the movie a second time.

It was well worth it. It felt like taking a trip back to magical world of DB after being away for so long. I felt like I was 10 again. It was an extremely enjoyable experience. It had very good humor from smile-inducing scenes like Kaiou wearing protective gear and hiding behind sandbags as Goku trains to parts that had me rolling like the prince of all dancers. The fight scenes were also pretty good. Though I think it went a little overboard with certain CGI parts. The last fight itself was pretty good and well animated. However, I felt like it lacked a little in variety of moves and techniques (the only energy attacks were a barrage of sudden blasts underground by Birusu for a moment and then a kamehameha followed by a ball of destruction at the very end). It would have been nice to also see a new move or two from Goku (it looks like games are giving ssjg Goku a "rebirth kamehameha", it would have at least been cool to have actually seen something like that in the movie).

I think ssjg is my favorite ssj form now. I like the simplicity of it. In the countless ideas for what a new form could look like that I'd seen, I don't think anybody ever suggested a form that makes one thinner as opposed to bulkier. That was one unique trait of it I thought was cool. The fiery aura was also cool. I always thought that as the main character, Goku deserved at least one form that was unique to him. For the time being that is sort of the case, though it is inevitable that if more stories are to come we'll eventually have a ssjg Vegeta as well. Perhaps it could be kept semi-unique to Goku with some ssj4 type treatment where, for some unexplained reason, Goku can turn ssjg on his own for brief periods without assistance, but Vegeta is always required to dance while holding hands any time he wants to use it. :P

It was an awesome and fun experience. Here's to hoping we can have another adventure to look forward to in the next few years.

I won't be very surprised if majority just decides to watch the movie with the English subtitles on Internet, since Fox didn't quickly give FUNimation the rights to dub it and release it.

Ever since Fox's name popped up on Toei's website that I had a bad feeling about the English release of the movie. I'm going to harshly criticize Fox if the movie isn't going to make its way here.

You can harshly criticize FOX for anything and 9 times out of 10 they likely deserved it.

Any word on how this thing's been selling or do we have to wait until the end of its first week?

I'll post the preliminary numbers once they hit on Tuesday. Full numbers for the week should hit on Thursday. Over on the Mania forums the user named something posts detailed translations of the Japanese sales information.

It's not like fansubs are going to hurt the sales of the movie. I mean DBZ Movie 1-13 had fan subs long before they were license in the US and they did fine. Imagine that most DBZ fans already saw DBZ Movie 1-13 subbed before they were released on VHS and DVD in the US seeing that Anime Labs subbed all of the DBZ movies from what I can remember. Hell, Marvel's The Avengers was leak on the Internet two weeks before it came out in the US and it made a shit load of cash.

While I agree the movie's in no danger of losing sales from people it's made no effort to sell to, the first thirteen films aren't the best example. The kids watching Toonami and buying those movies at Blockbuster probably had very little experience with fansubbed RealPlayer files.

And seeing everyone's positive responses is thrilling!

Just finished watching it and here's my honest opinion.

It was amusing, but really suffered from poor pacing. I felt like it dragged a bit too much.

I felt that 90% of the movie was Bills and Whis eating stuff. It was like a Toriko movie with the DBZ cast in it.

The humor was a bit overdone just for the sake of having humor in it. While Vegeta's dancing was funny, it felt pretty out of character for him. The Pilaf gang really didn't add anything to the movie.

The action was too spread out and too far in between. The BGM (and especially the absence of it) was also pretty lacking to capture the tension in most of the fight with Bills and Goku. Although Flow's "Hero" played during the fight was pretty awesome.

I really didn't enjoy the massive overuse of the CGI backgrounds too. I felt like I was back in 1995 again playing a terrible PC movie that tries to be a game.

I really, really, really wanted to enjoy this movie much more than I did, but I felt that it lacked the impact of the Jump Special and what made the past DBZ movies enjoyable. :(

Yeah I totally forgot about fox and was surprised when I heard it's theme. I have zero faith that Fox is just going to let the rights slide to Funi. It'll be a long long time till we hear this movie in english.
