One thing that bugs me is why doesn't Goku go ssj3 when fighting bills at the end? I get that he absorbed some of the ssj god power into his being, but he didn't realize that. Wouldn't he want to power up to his max level? Then again, Goku fighting kid buu as a ssj didn't make much sense either.

As you said Goku didn;t know he powered down from SSG and was using "SSG"'s full power.

Had this been part of official canon... (like if the manga continued)... I think it would have been interesting if Goku continually was able to turn ssj god... but never control it. Like he would train to be able to use the form when he wanted but from time to time he would accidentally use it. I could see Vegeta somehow try to obtain the lower without the ritual and find a more useful form of ssj3. Like without the long hair... basically what he experiebced for a moment in the movie. Yes... I went off into fan fixtion mode for a moment lol.

I do love they gave Vegeta a moment to shine, even if it didn't fully make sense.

Shida Naotoshi is God's gift to Dragon Ball. I hope he gets to direct for the franchise someday. He provides the storyboard for One Piece episode #590, but that was still done for the Episode Director so I doubt he had as much input.

I really don't know a lot about the animation in Dragon Ball, but has Shida Naotoshi worked on anything else Dragon Ball-related before BOG? If I had to guess, I'd say the opening for Ultimate Blast.

That's the 1 thing that I didn't understand from the film. You see an image of everyone screaming "Goku/Kakarotto!". Was that in his head? Suddenly you see a blast of that "blue Saiyan ki" that created the "God" form, and Goku's suddenly back at it again for an instant. How did that happen?

I mean, it's obvious it was "He brought it back at that instance because GOKU IS NUMBAA WAN DA" and whatnot, but they're obviously setting up for a sequel.

My head-canon is that because he accidentally absorbed it, Goku's stuck with that mysterious ssjg power now and his fear of losing his family/friends/world and his desperation to prevent their destruction in effect caused him to subconsciously call it forth the 2nd time.

I do agree with the idea of possible-sequel-setup (next DB anniversary is the manga's 30th next year, December 3rd) and I so very badly want it to be true, if only for more adorable ssjg Goku, and more fun with Beers (I want to see his reaction to getting a chance to finally taste pudding. :3 ).

Not really; there is still nearly a decade after the film for them to fuck up another wish to Shenlong.

Also, can someone with the actual DVD or Blu-ray do me a favor? I need the character sheets of Dende, Yogengyo (Oracle Fish) and God Goku from the extras section. Based on previous events, I'm not sure if Mike would want them posted up here or not, but if someone could PM them to me, I'd appreciate it. I'd do it myself, but my computer doesn't have a Blu-ray drive... :/

What if they find the Dragon Balls later on and Pilaf says "I WISH WE WERE OLD!" instead of their original age.

I did like what they did with the movie though, it was a nice jab at GT.

Hi guys. Could anyone explain to me how Goku managed to revive himself when he presumably dies at the end? Is that supposed to be left to interpretation?
