Has Toriyama ever said his true feelings about GT?
Re: Has Toriyama ever said his true feelings about GT?
Whatever Toriyama's feelings were about GT, I'm sure he has long forgotten them by now.
Re: Has Toriyama ever said his true feelings about GT?
Since the original question has been answered numerous times, I'd like to touch the sub-topic of BOG & DBE a little:
Some love BOG for how good it is, some hate BOG for how bad it is (and some are in the middle). BOG is both good and bad, and there's different kinds of people with different opinions on what takes the priority: the positives or the negatives. DBE doesn't have this issue though. It's an utter shit and is hated by everyone.

Despite the plot-holes & the stupid things, BoG is actually a very enjoyable movie. DBE however is not an enjoyable movie.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: Has Toriyama ever said his true feelings about GT?
Is this a fact? Or is it only an opinion in a form of fact? Were you even replying to me (not sure because you didn't quote, but the content of your post suggests you were)? Anyway, I'll counter that by an approach of a person who thinks differently than you: "Because of plotholes & stupid things, BOG is not a very enjoyable movie". The point is, you may put the things you enjoyed in the movie above the things you didn't, but another person may have all those things they didn't like screw up the whole movie up (the good memories may stay, but the movie as a whole won't be considered good by them).DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Despite the plot-holes & the stupid things, BoG is actually a very enjoyable movie. It's an opinion of course.

I would rather watch DBE again than ever watch BoG.

Oh yeah, you haven't even watched it. You really have no room to speak then. It's a great movie, you just have to get passed your rather irrational hatred for Godku.

Why has this topic turned into a Super Saiyan God Goku vs Super Vegetto debate?

It's not really a debate, Rocketman just has a severe hatred for anything that makes Super Vegetto not the best.

Regardless of his reasoning and if you're wrong or write about it - how about just not engaging with that in this topic? You're just going to fuel it.TheMightyOzaru wrote:SSJ2 Vegetto could still kick his ass so I fail to see the problem here.

If a debate were to start based on that statement, I would merely say let's not please.

Re: Has Toriyama ever said his true feelings about GT?
If any thing I hope Toriyama doesn't hate gt. I loved gt as a child when I first discovered it in Japanese on VHS at a hobby shop I used to go to. I actually hope that there's another movie sequel to BOG that kinda leads up to the world tournament and into gt. And furthermore the only thing good about Evolution was Chi-Chi's breasts. Not to be funny or perverted but that was all that kept my attention as a man and as a loyal db fan. Roshi taught me.

I think that the power issues regarding whether ssj god is stronger then vegetto are moot. I think you have to be a God in general to even hold your own against bills. He has a different kind of ki.... it cannot be detected. It stands to reason that he isn't necessairly stronger per se, but perhaps on another level thats impervious to traditional normal power. Its not the same. And btw, who says exactly that ssj god is using lent powers of others? They specifically note that just lending power doesn't do it. It's a ritual that uses multiple saiyans to create a god power... not lend it. In that sense, maybe Goku doesn't realize that perhaps the power IS his own. Its the power he'd have as a God. It's like getting a promotion haha. Thry unlock the power... not lend it. Who knows where the power comes from. None of them could lend that kind of actual power. They don't possess it in the first place. I thi k Goku was mostly upset he didn't achieve the power through training. Not that it wa borrowed.s

Honestly I'll say it's split 49 to 51. I would rather not watch neither. If I had to chose. I would pick the word OVER..over than both of the films. Least with Evolution I knew it was going to suck. With BoG I had expectations.TheMightyOzaru wrote:Good for you, you seem to be a minority. Expectations have nothing to do with this. One is objectively piss poor, feels nothing like Dragon Ball, and has no redeeming qualities. The other is a fun movie and feels like Dragon Ball.
