Re: First Dragon Ball movie you saw in Japanese?
the first DBZ movie i ever saw in Japanese was movie 12, Fusion Reborn, before Funimation dubbed it.

Dragonball movie 4, road to the strongest in 1997. Sadly, I've lost the VHS fansub tape of it
It was in such good quality, too.

The old FUNimation single for the Super Saiyan episode. I was messing around with the audio and I wanted to hear how different it was (was about 9 at the time). I ended up loving the Kikuchi music (and wishing the dub had it, which didn't come until the Orange Bricks) and Nozawa's Goku was different but I liked it. I noticed the dialouge was a lot more mature too, which is kinda bad if me at 9 can tell that the dub was a mess (although I didn't care that much at the time). I was always bummed that Freeza sounded way more awesome in Japanese until about Kai where I think Ayres is worth of the title of a "English Nakao" for his Freeza.
Whoops, it listed movie. In that case, I think Lord Slug?

The first one I watched in Japanese was also movie 12 but I was really late to the game. I didn't have a way to watch the show in Japanese until the Orange Bricks, but I stopped buying those after three "seasons" because I couldn't get over how bad the image quality was (had I realized things got better from there I may have actually purchased all nine). I picked up the Dragon Boxes as they were coming out here in the US but I had no interest in buying the movies at the time, primarily because I was hoping a Dragon Box release of the movies would be announced once the show was completed. My apathy towards the movies was also aided by my memories of watching some of them (4 and 8 perhaps) on Toonami and thinking they were kind of boring at the time. Probably about six months after Dragon Box 7 was released I finally decided to go ahead and buy the movies as I was by then totally committed to the goal of owning the entire series on DVD. I happened upon the 12/13 Blu Ray in a super cheap auction on eBay ($5?) so that was the first one I purchased. Since the first film one that disc is 12 then that must have been the first one I ever watched in Japanese... In 2012...Like I said, I was real late to that party!

Fansub movie 13 on RealPlayer. Choppy, grainy, all around shitty. Still had fun. Don't remember what age I was.
Thank you, Aunt Kim, for the illegal DB/Z/GT sub CDs you bought for me on eBay. It was truly a great gift. Even if only 1/4 of them actually worked.
...Sorry, Uncle Toei and Aunt FUNi. You're not really related to me.

Can't remember. It was either the History of Trunks or the first Broly movie.

Not counting the GT special, it was movie 12, which I think is a good one for introductions.

The first DBZ/Z movie I saw was 'The Strongest Guy in the World!' with it's strobe light intro.

Movie 12 back in 1999.
Jumping from the constant dub Freeza re-runs to Janemba and Gogita was pretty mindblowing.
