The 12 Universes Mentioned In BOG...

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Are they Toei's Movies, GT, and Akira Toriyama's Manga?

It's a nice observation, but I don't think so - the fact that the new Universe structure is touched upon in the Chozenshuu, which already covers content from the previous films, makes the idea seem unlikely. I'd like to go with the majority opinion that the point in Bills mentioning it to Goku was an attempt to set up further expansions into the Dragonball Universe, but I'm a little more pragmatic over the immediate future of the Dragonball franchise.

GT and Toei's movies happen in the same universes, so no.

No they don't. All of the pre-BOG movies expect for DBZ Movie 9 and 13 don't fit into the timeline. Given that BOG is apart of the manga while GT is not then maybe GT could be apart of the 12 universes. AT did said that he views it as a side story.

It's possible, but nothing's set in stone.

I think they are completely different universes. Meaning earth, Goku etc. don't exist in anything but the 7th universe.

That's what I'm hoping. But maybe Earth, Goku, etc exist in the 7th and 1 or 2 other universes.

No, the 12 Universes are not 12 alternative timelines. They are 12 separate universes, and each of them have their own AfterLife, galaxies, stars, planets, alien races, gods, etc.

Everything we've seen so far (manga, anime, movies, video game what-ifs, EVERYTHING) take place in the 7th Universe.

If none of the other universes have Goku in it then they would be missing a great opportunity to tie the various continuities together. That and if they really aren't at all tied into his universe, then what the hell is the point of bringing them up toei?! And why would there be only 12 if they apparently have as little to do with dragonball as Marvel or D.C and thus the number can be expanded upon to include every universe in fiction, hell even our own universe is a candidate for the list. This theory never made sense to me.

Hero Mode in Ultimate Tenkaichi was in a parallel earth. Could be considered a different universe. I don't count it as it's a video game story and it sucks ass.

It still takes place in 7th Universe, it's just a different 7th Universe form a parallel world. There are parallel worlds in the Dragon World, and each parallel world has its own alternative 12 Universes.

This. While I'm fine with a multiverse thing in a fan comic, I'm not so big on it being done in an official capacity.

I don't think it would ever be that, heck probably couldn't due to different animation companies (and we'd certainly never get it here if it did), but I do like the joke theory that someone tossed around a while back that the other universes are actually other SJ series. :P

I don't buy the idea of every DBZ movie taking place in a single timeline. It would be impossible given that the other DBZ movies can't fit.

How? Trunks is in a different timeline so it makes sense. Hero mode however can easily be classified as in another universe. There are only 12 universes, no more and no less. That or the people behind BOG screwed up.

They can all fit together. Only DB Movie 1 can't fit with the 10th Anniversary.

No, there are not other planets Earth in the other 11 Universes.

I will explain the relationship of timelines with the universe 7.

all timelines are within the universe 7, according to these guides officials:

db: forever
second db: forever timelines are dimensions of the universe, if you destroy the universe, will destroy also the dimensions. speaking about this, akira, not said that movies are a different dimension? and dbgt an alternate future? and we also see movies events in the chronology dragon ball, in daizenshuu 7. then this means that even happening within the universe 7 ,movies are inside another alternate dimension created as a consequence, of the use the time machine, as it is said in db: forever.

dbo:
http://www.kanzenshuu.com/forum/viewtop ... =8&t=24479

second dragon ball online, these dimensions are causing to collapse the universe, another indication that alternative lines, are within the universe 7.

daizenshuu 7:
revealed the dimension 4,cell, kills all z fighters, as shown in the anime.

Conclusion: Each universe is unique and has its own alternative lines, gods of destruction and kaioshins own, not universes with alternate versions of the same characters.

How? DBZ Movie 2-12 makes it impossible to happen in a single timeline given that stuff happens in those movies that makes it impossible to happen. Like DBZ Movie 3, can't happen with everyone dead and the others on Namek.

Chozenshuu 4 states that the 12 Universe are not alternative universes, so no, it's a fact.

Movie 9 is like, as possible as it can get. The only problem there is that Goku was not busy building a house, but otherwise it's fine. He could take a break too.
