While I want to play the game I didn't really want to pre order and then they offer 3 pre order characters. Guess Ps3 it is.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
The reason why there is no in game transformations is due to memory, there simply isn't enough especially if you got 8 people running around on screen and a large map. I personally would rather see this on the PS4/One than on current systems and I can guarantee you would see transformations.Kaboom wrote:The announced lack of in-game transformations really has caused my interest in and want for this game to take a very steep dive. Those transformations are one of the most prevalent things in these games that really make them feel like Dragon Ball, they've almost always been there, and taking them away just seems to hurt that experience. I'd much rather have that than the ability to play with 7 other people at once which would actually happen maybe once out of every 100 play sessions.
Battle of Z-2 if released would have it as there is more resources available, more ram, more processing power, better gpu, better everything. This is also released on consoles that were in development 10 years ago, technology changes rapidly, so rapidly you have newer cpus out every year and new architecture changes every other year, and workstation releases every 2 years.
This is a royale type game where everything goes, if we stuck with 1-1 it'd just be another crappy game that we've seen for the last 11 years. The only GOOD fighting game that was released was Super DBZ.
Of course I compete in fighting tournaments, and love in depth fighters. This isn't following the other dbz games at all, this really resembles DBZ Legends type of game play except in a 3D environment (there was 3D rotation and a sense of 3d but it was mostly 2D in a 2.5D setting with sprites).
Now if we can only get Capcom or Namco-Bandai to release a competitive fighting game in an open world environment.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I am particularly sure that BoZ will not be the last DBZ game for the current gen consoles; despite everyone's wishful thinking of the matter. When Infinite World was announced for the PS2, Atari, or whoever was in charge at the time, had to specifically say that "Infinite World will be the final DBZ game for the PS2". There was no argument to that because that statement came from the very game devs themselves. Namco Bandai never said BoZ would be the final DBZ game for current gen consoles. Theres going to be at least be 1 or 2 more DBZ games for current gen after BoZ. Namco Bandai doesn't want to start making DBZ games for PS4 and Xbox One right away for obvious reasons:
1) Costs would increase
2) PS3 and Xbox 360 has a greater install base than PS4 and Xbox One
3) They want to wait and see how successful BoZ will be when released in the market before making any major business decision.
I don't expect a next gen DBZ game until 2015 or 2016; there going to wait a couple of years until the install base of PS4 and Xbox One grows and then release a DBZ game for that platform. And to add an example to this, Nintendo waited a full 2 years after the release of their 3DS to release the newest Pokemon games onto that handheld. They didn't want to release one right away, they waited for the 3DS install base to grow (same reason...) and then release the new game. Anyone who is expecting a next gen DBZ is going to have to wait till 2015 or 2016 the earliest for information.
And on a side note: DBZ on PS4/XB1 will probably not happen if BoZ bombs badly. Investing into making games for even more expensive hardware is going to make them step back and think if developing a DBZ game for next gen consoles is even worth it. They might just keep making them for PS3/Xbox 360 because its cheaper and theres less risk involved.
But who knows! Maybe BoZ will be a hit! And the devs says "Onward to next gen!" But not likely

Considering Budokai 3 came out in 2004 and it is 2013 we have not had a decade of bad DBZ games.I don't see BOZ bombing, but with a decade of bad games it would be a challenge
Budokai 3/ IW, Tenkaichi 3, Super DBZ are for the most part all well received and liked by fans and non fans.

If the gameplay is still the same when it's gone gold then it will bomb hard.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:I don't see BOZ bombing, but with a decade of bad games it would be a challenge.
Tenkaichi 1 was terrible, Raging Blast 1 had broken camera / sluggish gameplay, UT wasn't even an actual game. DBZ For Kinect with the body control allowed the game to have some gameplay whereas with the original you were stuck with QTEs.miguelnuva1 wrote:Budokai 3/ IW, Tenkaichi 3, Super DBZ are for the most part all well received and liked by fans and non fans.
The only decent games of this current gen are Burst Limit and Raging Blast 2.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
@ Daimo A decade of bad dbz games? Uh huh ,yeah okay.
. Oh wait, is this the part where someone mentions Tenkaichi 2/3 or Budokai 3/Infinite world, and then you bring in a plethora of your own reasons to make certain things about the game, seem like a bigger deal than what they already are , to make it seem like the games are pieces of turd? Or are you going to be "that guy" who compares it to a more traditonal fighting game and then call it garbage because it doesn't have "this, this and that" . Now as a guy who enjoys Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, along with the PS2 games like Tenkaichi 3/ IW, I really want you to convince me why these games are bad.
Do be aware that this game will still be judged on it's depth, and simply being a battle royal will not change the criticisms made about it regarding it's gameplay. Or excuse it.

Doesn't seem like there's gonna be any surprise as far as character roster.
Looks like, right now, we all seem to know if we wanna get it or not.
As far as characters, the only thing they could possibly surprise us with would be either Tarble, Hachihyack and/or Chilled. Or maybe having a giant Hachihyack as a giant boss.

Even if they're advertising him as a pre-order bonus, he might still be unlockable in game. Worst case scenario is you'll have to pay a buck for Super Saiyan Rubber Duck, if you don't want to pre-order.MCDaveG wrote:If there is Chilled, then I want SSJ Rubber Duck!!!!!!!

Super Vegetto, SS Bardock, and Shinobi SS Goku are DLC characters, so we won't be able to play as them, unless if we pre-order the game, or buy them from PSN/Xbox Live when they are available.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
