Even if they're advertising him as a pre-order bonus, he might still be unlockable in game. Worst case scenario is you'll have to pay a buck for Super Saiyan Rubber Duck, if you don't want to pre-order.
Oh god.... The worst case scenario is with RB2, where you can't get enhanced characters for those who were in pre-preorder DLC as normal DLC, so you can't get them ever....
Wow, and Super Vegetto is DLC. I can live without Rubber Duck but this is rudiculous!

Yeah, really. Even tough I bought lots of DLC's for some games like all of the for Arkham series games, I still think it's rudiculous.
I'm okay with DLC as an extra to complete game, as you have complete game and now you go, WOW! I want that bonus and buy it! or wait for GOTY or Complete edition....
But last time with Street Fighter vs Tekken, I was so pissed off when I found out about the half of the roster locked for price of a full game, that I grabbed the game, tossed it to the corner and never played again.
So in overall look, I think that Bandai will be happy if someone actually buys the game even without rudiculous DLC's. Because outside of pre-orders, DB games have zero support at the time they are released and there is no guarantee to even buy or get a DLC.

This game is starting to piss me off and all I saw was one poor gameplay video, with polished PS2 graphics. Really, compare it to RB1/2 for example, it really is ugly. 4 on 4 battles only, no in-game transformations
and major character being DLC. After two years of waiting after series of bad games, they expect me to burst in orgasm or beat the shelve with the game down as soon as I enter the gamestore?!

Oh, thank you, I still secretly hope for it to be like ''Nintendo'', less shine and graphics but more fun and invention. If you don't count rudiculous and impossible unlocks in the Gundam series from Art Dink, it was pretty cool game with tons of fanservice as there is like hundreds mechas, with transformations.

Tenkaichi 1 was terrible, Raging Blast 1 had broken camera / sluggish gameplay, UT wasn't even an actual game. DBZ For Kinect with the body control allowed the game to have some gameplay whereas with the original you were stuck with QTEs.

The only decent games of this current gen are Burst Limit and Raging Blast 2.
Thank you I forgot to add Burst Limit as a okay game to the list. Don't know what the others had to do though.

IW got mixed feelings from fans and non fans. Critics hated it and I remember the user reviews on Gamefaqs was 50/50.

Well, that seems easy enough but I wonder how this will play out with the gameplay as it doesn't look to be very good currently.

How much do you want to bet Namco is gonna blame DBZ fans for being too picky when they don't buy this game  ?

So Vegetto is only DLC and can't be unlocked. Did Capcom give them this idea?

Why I have a feeling they did this because 4v4. They didn't have anyone to fight with Vegetto so they put him out. How are they going to do he Boo arc

So what's everyone's problem with the game? I haven't been keeping up with all of the updates but I thought it looked neat from the trailers I saw.

Aside from the fact that it's just another typical DBZ game with all of the recycled stuff, except this time we had to wait two years for it.

  • No off-line multi-player.
  • Only 4 vs 4 (no 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, etc).
  • No transformations (SS Goku & Base Goku are separate characters for example).
  • Not many characters.
  • Bad graphics.
  • Game-play doesn't look good.
My only complains are the first 3 for now.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

* Gameplay looks mediocre
* Music isn't Kikuchi's score
* DLC exclusive characters are unnecessary
* Transformations count as actual in-game characters
* Delayed to 2014 and probably won't be any better by then
* This kind of game (idea) should have came years ago for current-gen consoles

Game was supposedly in development since 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014.. two years?

The beams like Kamehame-Ha do have bad animation and don't last long.

  • Alternatives include a very restrictive split-screen, Playstation TV's 3D feature (who even has one?) or keeping all players on screen at the same time, having to keep up in a "mile away" view. Pick your poison.
  • I seriously doubt that. Besides, I'm pretty sure that's not how it's intended when they say "UP TO 4 players".
  • Which can be forgiven this one time if the game turns out to be GOOD, and be so both off and online.
  • If you're a really hardcore Chaozu fan.
  • Not really, but I'm not sold on the character models either.
  • Played by people getting their hands on it for the first time, even Jojo ASB looked bad. I'm not saying it looks like an amazing game (which it certainly doesn't) but it seems like people wanna kill this off for superficial reasons. We wanted something new, by someone other than Spike. Isn't this the part where we let them do their thing and judge when it's done?
dbboxkaifan wrote: * Music isn't Kikuchi's score
Actually, we still don't know if the european version isn't or not. I'm certainly not gonna hold my breath, but the Japan Expo presentation left some hope.

They're advertising it right now as having been two years in the making. 2011 was how long ago, again? The real lie is it being the "first all-new" game in that period lol
