Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.
Maybe Tights left Earth with Jaco, it would explain why she's not there for the rest of Dragon Ball, and maybe they return after Battle of Gods, and a new series starts. Who knows, maybe Jaco gets into trouble with a God of Destruction in another universe, and needs Goku's help.
Still though, the most glaring issue is that Goku...seems to already be at the age he should have been when the series started, rather than being a baby. That's a pretty big omission to make there...I love seeing him with the Saiyan armor though. But if he's already at this age...does it still mention him hitting his head at all? The way the main site update explains it kind of gives me the impression that Gohan just offers for him to stay, and 'Kakarot' just goes with it. Odd...
And as amusing as it is that Bulma has an older sister, where in the heck was she for the rest of the franchise and why was she never mentioned before?
Maybe this is one of the 12 universes!!!!!!!!!
Spoiler:
Maybe you can rationalize the Bulma contradiction as Bulma wanting to go to school she had already mastered because she wanted the "normal" childhood experience? Or maybe she's like Goten (super saiyan before flying) in that she completed university before high school (yeah I'm def reaching). I'm fine with all the contradictions so long as they at least mention why Bulma never mentioned Tights...same reason Vegeta never mentioned Tarble? Birds of a Feather?

How I enjoy the anime:
Spoiler:
I like to switch between the dub and the original. If I want to watch the original I'll watch it subbed on my Dragon Boxes.
If I want to watch it dubbed I'll watch the funimation singles and my dragon boxes for the other episodes in proper aspect ratio. Aside from the Vegeta arc I cannot stand the dub with the Japanese music, as it just does not mesh with the dub script and acting.
Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the Kikuchi score and think it works perfectly with the Japanese cast...but the American audio in Z and Kai just sounds awful with it.
Kai is the only version of the dub I cannot watch whether it be Yamamoto's score or Kikuchii's ad hoc replacement. Until this forum I had not encountered a single person who preferred Kai to Z in terms of dub.
Maybe Tights and Omori and Jaco are gonna help the Z era people travel to the alternate 12 universes!

Huh, didn't think of that, but that could cover it easily enough. At least, on the 'where is she' front - not really sure how I feel about it tying directly into Battle of Gods like that.

I'm still of the thought that the other twelve universes are completely their own thing rather than alternate versions of our main story though. That just feels more broad to me, whereas alternate universes - while fine for a fan project like Multiverse - just feel...I dunno. Less original, I guess?
Spoiler:
I'm fine with the Bulma already having completed university thing, oddly enough. That I can hand-wave as her just having completed material on par with it, or something; or maybe she went to a normal school afterwards because of some reason or another. It would explain her willingness to skip out from it so often, that's for sure.
It's her randomly added sister that's never been mentioned before that has me so curious though. Maybe she really did just never bring her up to make it comparable to Vegeta's never mentioning Tarble, but...that seems more out of character for her than it does Vegeta. Maybe Tights really does head out with Jaco though?
Also, in that one panel, did toddler Bulma just blow something up with her raygun?

I always thought it's strange that Raditz says that Goku "forgot" the order in spite of how he was little at the time. This makes more sense.

I always thought his 'forgetting' was tied into him hitting his head though? That's what I'm wondering about with this new scenario, is if that still happens, or if they're trying to imply Goku - or Kakarot rather - just kind of let it go so that he could stay there or something.

Bahaha I saw that and was like ... I am hoping maybe this is how Dr. Briefs did Capsule technology from what Jaco brought, that'd be cool to me. I would love to see a Jaco series and how the galactic patrolmen reacted to the exploits in Z especially after the fall of Freeza...maybe just a one off where it's just a shit load of reaction panels to hearing what just happened on Earth I don't have a continuity problem with Goku's armor either cuz Toriyama incorporated Bardock the Father of Goku, but that does not mean he accepted the time frame for when Goku was sent to Earth and so maybe this fixes that discontinuity from Battle of Gods of 37 years

About Bulma and Vegeta both having siblings, maybe Bardock has even more children that we don't know about! Tullece maybe? It'd make sense at least since he looks like Goku/Bardock. It seems characters don't talk about their siblings much, we didn't know Muten Roshi had a sister for a while, and Goku didn't know about Raditz, maybe Toriyama will want to explore character relatives a little more in the future? Yamucha could have a twin for all we know, and Chaozu could have been an octuplet!
Now if there's a sequel I wanna see Tights crash down on Earth and be all "I AM YOUR OLDER SISTER FROM PLANET... EARTH, YOU'RE NATURALLY BLONDE BULMA!" And then Piccolo makankosappos her through the chest.
*Wants to draw child Gokû in his saiyajin armor now.*

as for Tights being the new Raditz but I'd rather Bulma whip out her bad ass baby ray gun...where was that during the Pilaf arc!?

Huh, that's possible I guess...I can't remember actually - is it only in anime stuff that we specifically see that Goku was a baby, rather than just 'young', when he came to Earth? Or was that specifically shown in the manga too? If not, that could definitely be what's going on here, and it's just my preconceptions from the anime side that's confusing me.

As much as I'm indifferent to the idea of Tullece being Goku's brother as well, since I can remember when that fan-theory was rampant across the internet, I'd actually buy that a LOT more than the 'low-level Saiyans just tend to look alike' thing. That just feels like the cheapest excuse ever. You're right though, looking at it now, siblings really do just kind of pop out of the woodwork in DB...I never noticed that trend before.

This is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for with Jaco. I love it, and I appreciate Toriyama's effort on the series, continuity errors and all.
On question I I'm not sure has been answered, but I hope is mentioned somewhere in the full chapter next Monday; do we ever learn Omori's first name? I mean, they reveal an answer to just about every other question I had except maybe this one...
I mean, it seems like a bit of an odd choice to give his wife a name on a grave stone, but never mention his full name...

My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
I always thought his 'forgetting' was tied into him hitting his head though?
Spoiler:
He can't understand or remember any orders if he was still an infant when he was sent to the earth. From what Raditz says, it seems like Goku was old enough to understand human language. Maybe they used a machine that imprints orders to infants without language communication, though.

That's always what I had assumed, was that there was something in the pod's computers feeding them information about what to do once they landed on their designated planet, or...something. But again, I'm not wondering if the whole 'Saiyans send their babies to planets to conquer them' thing was stressed only in the anime, or if the manga left room to suggest they weren't actually toddlers when sent out.

In the last chapter we can see child Bulma with her parents that visit Omori island and meet Jaco, Omori and Tights. And we can see too Bulma and Son Goku first meeting at the end of the chapter
Pictures thanks @kazu4281.
Spoiler:
I like how Bulma is really thin as she's drawn in Toriyama's new style yet she still has big boobs.
Also I wonder what happened to Goku's armor. It's supposed to adapt to the size of its wearer and be way more resistant AND comfortable than Earthling clothes yet Goku doesn't wear it at the start of DB.

Yeah so I just went back through the manga at the begining of the Z era and it just has Roshi say that Gohan had a baby that hit his head and Raditz when he flies off imagines a baby Goku, so I still think it's open to interpretation as in maybe that was the last time Raditz saw Goku, it could have taken Goku years to get to Earth like it took Nappa and Vegeta a year to show up...honestly I think it's a flub but it is a rationable flub
