GT characters in the video games: Yay or nay?
Ok. Dragon Ball GT sucks. Almost everyone is in agreement with that statement. What about having GT characters in the video games? Whats the consensus among the fanbase with this? Do we care about GT characters being in the video games or no?

Eh, I don't think it 'sucks' per se but yes, that's a wholeeeee other topic.
I personally love SSJ4's designs and quite enjoy Pan and co. When it comes to video games, I want as many options as possible so I much prefer them to include GT's roster.
I'm not going to complain about extra characters purely on basis of the quality of an anime. It has its moments and I've always enjoyed its characters so hey, why not?!

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

I don't mind them in the video games. Though at the same time, I don't think we would be losing much if they didn't put them in...

Re: GT characters in the video games: Yay or nay?
One thing I really like about some of the DBGT character designs is the amount of color used. With Vegeta-Baby there's some nice yellow going on... SSJ4 Gogeta has all the red... some of those early villains have some nice blues...
So yeah, I think it helps brighten things up. Absolutely no problem with them being there. My preference would be that the underlying game is good above all else, but if tossing some DBGT into the mix doesn't hurt that, then by all means...!

I like when GT characters are tossed in to further expand the roster. That said, it does feel like they usually get less attention put into how they play...at least, that was the case in Tenkaichi 3. None of the GT characters, save for Goku maybe, really played that well in comparison to the DB or Z characters.

Abominations from the movies get into these games all the time. GT's an improvement from the likes of the Broly trilogy.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
Re: GT characters in the video games: Yay or nay?
Definitely yay. GT's main problems were with its story. But its characters are GREAT material for fighting games.

I say yay. I may not like them, but other people do, and as such, they should be included. Free DLC would be the best way to do it since not everyone likes GT.

Thats what I've been thinking. But NB thinks that the fanbase hates GT. Someone needs to clarify it to NB that we don't like the story per say but the characters would be fun to use in a video game perspective.

I'd rather have End of DBZ era characters. Adult Gohan, Adult Goten, etc.

This is stupid thinking, if anything, what most people want is the maximum content and fanservice they can get in a DBZ game...GT INCLUDED!GogetaSSJ2 wrote:Thats what I've been thinking. Uuuh how is that stupid thinking? I'm just re-iterating what the topic of this thread is about. You're pretty much saying the same thing I'm saying: GT characters are okay. Among all the comments here so far, all of them saying the same general idea, and you pick mine as "stupid thinking"....way to make enemies buddy.Quebaz wrote:This is stupid thinking, if anything, what most people want is the maximum content and fanservice they can get in a DBZ game...GT INCLUDED!GogetaSSJ2 wrote:Thats what I've been thinking. Re: designs
I'd like ssj4 to be included at least, I do like how they look. (Gokû's and Gogeta's more so than Vegeta's, but I'd want all three.)

I never was big fan of SSJ4 designs, but overall, I liked the somewhat darker look and kind of different grittier atmosphere in GT. Also, I think the designs overall are pretty nice and I like the villains especially.
As I don't take GT as canon, I really enjoyed the show as a kid, because as it ran in TV after Z, nobody knew or cared about manga source and such, so I have fond memories of GT.
I really like to play with GT characters, especially those in Infinite World, where my most favorite is GT Vegeta.

Yes I agree. Namco Bandai's belief that people don't want GT characters in the games is stupid and that notion should be fixed with them.

Even if GT's character designs were horrible (they aren't), I'd still want them in to break up the endless parade of orange gis and blue spandex.

Re: GT characters in the video games: Yay or nay?
I think most people who hate GT will admit some of the characters look cool. I'm not a fan of GT, but I do like Super 17's design and some of the Shadow Dragons. GT and Movie characters became more common after 2004. I think the American fanbase likes them better then the Japanese fanbase does.

Hell yes. I like playing as all the characters from DB-GT.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
