DBZ KAI remaster similar to Dragonbox

Post by TheGmGoken » Sun Sep 29, 2013 12:36 pm

Someone by the name of urmyspecialbuddy/HipsturrAnime previous known as Lilthira18 seems to have remaster DBZ KAI to make it look like the Dragonbox mixed with DBZ KAI. You can judge the turn out. I'm not sure what to think of it.

Really? It looks to me like he just upped the saturation and... ugh... squashed the picture. The bleeding colors hurt my eyes.

Don't get me wrong, I tend to turn up the contrast on my TV when I'm watching Kai, but this is too much.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Everything's too dark, orange tinted, and saturated.

Makes the Kai footage worthless to me, to be honest. The thing I love most about Kai's footage is the greater contrast range, which has more dark details than any other transfer.

"90% of you here don't even know what you're talking about (there are a few that do). But the things you say about these releases are nonsense and just plain dumb. Like you Metalwario64"--final_flash

The colours are the same as in the original singles, which are yes, a bit saturated. I always liked the old masters funi and pioneer used, so I made Kai look like them. If I were to desaturate these a bit, and put them side by side you'd see the difference.

Glad to see you like them though.
