New 3-shot Dragon Ball manga
According the latest update on the main page, the December 2013 issue of Saikyō Jump will contain a 3-shot Dragon Ball manga. Does anyone have more info about this?

Wow... I wonder what 3-shot means, and if Toriyama is involved, though.UpFromTheSkies wrote:According the latest update on the main page, the December 2013 issue of Saikyō Jump will contain a 3-shot Dragon Ball manga. Does anyone have more info about this?
Re: New 3-shot Dragon Ball manga
It's probably another mini-series like Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. Maybe this three-shot will tie into the upcoming new series for Dragon Ball Heroes?
Re: New 3-shot Dragon Ball manga
It's so misleading they say series for Dragon Ball Heroes... Unless they make a Dragon Ball Heroes anime or something.JulieYBM wrote:It's probably another mini-series like Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. Maybe this three-shot will tie into the upcoming new series for Dragon Ball Heroes?

That reminds me of the Dragon Ball Hoshi bragging before it was revealed to be a game. Where did the "Hoshi" name even originate from?sangofe wrote:It's so misleading they say series for Dragon Ball Heroes... I'm guessing it means the story will only last 3 chapters. I hope Toriyama is involved, although we know he won't be the one drawing it, and especially not the one inking it.sangofe wrote:Wow... I would love a Dragon Ball Heroes anime, they would have an excuse to show fights that would never occur in the real series, like SSJ4 Gotenks vs Broli, but I suspect that ad was just worded poorly, and there isn't really going to be Dragon Ball Heroes anime.JulieYBM wrote:It's probably another mini-series like Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. I'm certain that isn't what thisnid referring to, but I too would love a DragonBall Heroes anime. It would totally be a cross between DBZ and Yu-Gi-Oh! which sounds like a blast.UpFromTheSkies wrote: I would love a Dragon Ball Heroes anime, they would have an excuse to show fights that would never occur in the real series, like SSJ4 Gotenks vs Broli, but I suspect that ad was just worded poorly, and there isn't really going to be Dragon Ball Heroes anime.

Maybe it will be an Episode of Katatz or Episode of Vegeta three-shot? That would be right up my alley.

Yeah, I'm expecting something GT Gotenks related since he is supposed to be a big part of the next DBH series(at least from what I have read).JulieYBM wrote:It's probably another mini-series like Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. Just noticed that the issue comes out on my birthday!

GT Gotenks could be interesting. Would they later on adapt it into a Jump Tour special ala Bardock though, I wonder.Makaioshin wrote:Yeah, I'm expecting something GT Gotenks related since he is supposed to be a big part of the next DBH series(at least from what I have read).JulieYBM wrote:It's probably another mini-series like Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. Clearly Episode of Appule.
It'd be neat if Toriyama was involved in some way but it would have to be a consulting role since he's done drawing manga on this scale if I remember correctly.
Also, wouldn't 3-shot refer to 3 volumes since a 1-shot is typically the size of a tankobon (right?).

I'm betting it won't be anything special. Don't expect anything amazing out of this.

Re: New 3-shot Dragon Ball manga
A one-shot is any comic that is intended to be a standalone story in itself, regardless of length. At least in American comics, I've seen some works that were originally serialized as monthlies referred to as a "one-shot" if the subsequent graphic novel is not in a series with anything else, but the Japanese word "yomikiri" (読み切り) generally refers to a completely standalone comic, separate from serials (連載 rensai) of any length.Insertclevername wrote:Also, wouldn't 3-shot refer to 3 volumes since a 1-shot is typically the size of a tankobon (right?).

Re: New 3-shot Dragon Ball manga
So then 3 shot should be 3 completely separate stories. It would be interesting if they started a new Dragon Ball series with multiple artists and writers telling different stories in the Dragon Ball universe at any point in the DB timeline they choose, with Toriyama supervising.SaiyaJedi wrote:A one-shot is any comic that is intended to be a standalone story in itself, regardless of length.
