Why is Beerus so lazy?

He obviously enjoys fighting strong opponents, and he wants to be as strong as he can, but he knows there is at least one person above him (Whis) so shouldn't he be training as much as he can to try to beat him?

Or is Whis just so much stronger than him that he gave up on ever surpassing him?

Unless you're an android you can always get stronger... some just get stronger at faster rates than others.

1. Hes a cat.

2. He slept for 39 years. You ever sleep for 12 or so hours and wake up feeling like doing anything? Half the time you feel like you got no sleep at all, of course youd be lazy.

Have you never seen a cat in action, or inaction as is more common for those lazy animals? Plus, yeah, as someone mentioned if you oversleep, you don't wake up feeling refreshed and buzzed, you wake up feeling slow and lethargic, like you haven't slept at all.

He's lazy because it was decided he needed a quirk like any other anime characters.

He's not unconstested, Whis is stronger than him, my point is that doesn't it make more sense that he should be training to try to be able to match him? Unless Whis is so strong that he thinks he can never compare to him.
