Am I the only one who thinks this movie should have a half-american rock soundtrack like the some of the others?

Now before anyone jumps on me and says no, think about it. It worked on the other DBZ movies and look how epic it got to the western fans. And for the record, I only think they should only use the american rock songs for the fights and that's it, nothin' else.

Eh, this movie is too different in tone from the other movies for it to fit. I agree that it worked for those movies, especially Movie 8, but not a more light-hearted one like this.

Hence why I said "only for the fights".

If you think any song other than "Hero" fits that last fight scene, I will find and and we will fight.

Come on, who DOESN'T like the fights with soundtracks like those. They fitted them so well. Now if they can find good rock songs for BoG, AWESOME!!

Yeah, cant say that I miss them. Honestly its either the Yamamoto score or the composer behind Battle of Gods for me at this point.

The music for the battle scenes are just fine as they are. I think it's a ridiculous idea to replace any of the music, especially with something as inane as "American rock music". It undermines the entire spirit of DragonBall which, frankly, never -ever- should have "rock songs" in it. None of the older movies should have suffered such unnecessary tripe and this movie certainly shouldn't either.

It is, but it's also very campy in it's own right. It's more in line with the tone Kai was going for with the show. I didn't feel like it was totally appropriate, but it was also a character song for Vegeta and fit closer in line with a lot of the other image songs the series had given us up 'til that point.

The fact Vegeta's voice actor sung it made it all the more campy. Freeza's insert song was perfect though. At least I think so, though the song you used for his second form in Abridged had me in tears. Laughing tears..totally not tears of fear..hehe...

The last part in particular, where the main character Goku is unable to win, was a bit of a dangerous gamble going by existing theory. By doing that, however, I was able to preserve the dignity of Beerus, rumored to be the strongest there is. With respect to Goku, as well, I incorporated a message that, by having a future goal to shoot for, Dragon Ball will not end.

While I have to politely disagree and say that I liked a lot of the music in the old dubbed movies, and even found some of them rather fitting for the scenes they were put into...I'd also have to say that I don't want them to go back to doing that now, not that I see them doing it though.

The old dub movie scores with the Disturbed music are a product of their times, not something that I'd want to see come back ever again. I would like to hear English dubbed renditions of the songs that are actually in the film, but that probably won't be happening either, if I remember right about FLOW not wanting covers done of their stuff.

I will have to jump in, the soundtrack might not be the best, but I think people underate it too freaking much, the tracks when Goku became ssj god were awesome, the track when videl says she's pregnant is precious, the piece when Goku holds Bill's energy bomb didn't sound like immediate music, and honestly "mortal combat with a god" neither many other anime use this kind of choirs and orchestrations just like many anime music sounded similar to dragon ball music at the time, the piano piece when Goku says he gives up is great too, and I can't even start with the orchestrated Cha la head cha la. I respect your opinion, but you underrate this score too much

HOWEVER the "news time" part did make me laugh lol. I like the synth parts of the score because they remind me a lot of the old dbz games' soundtrack. which is a plus for me.

Thats a shame. I actually enjoyed it a lot. My favorite song in the series is still Dan Dan Kokoro Hitaretaku though.
