No offense Goken, but we get it. You and Rocketman despise Battle of Gods. You have made that very clear since the majority of us saw the film.

Don't see how that relates to what I said. I was agreeing with DBZFan7 with SSG being a letdown fighter and I responded to Kaboom saying Birsu vs SSG Goku is nothing like Goku vs Cell. Don't see how that shows my hate as it's not me insulting the movie until I say it was the ONE of the worst MAJOR Db fights. Which would be my opinion even if I liked the movie. Also me not liking the movie is no difference then people on here who keep saying Birsu is the best.

For years this image has been popularly known as a False Super Saiyan, but does anyone think that it is possible that this may have been Goku almost turning into a Super Saiyan God? I heard someone on the internet suggest the idea after first image of the Super Saiyan God was revealed.

Lord Slug was released before Goku reached Super Saiyan in the anime. Toei pretty much did their own design of SSJ so as not to spoil the anime debut of the actual SSJ design by Toriyama.

Still a fantastically animated fight with a great insert song.

Doesn't change the fact the fight was one of the worst MAJOR fights in DB's history.

It's definitely not one of the worst fights. I can understand how it may not make sense with the context (Although I like the SSJG Zenkai explanation), but in-and-of itself, it's a great bout.

Regarding the power difference between Goku and Beers, Goku was using 80% only in the early portions of the fight. According to the subs i have seen, Goku says he is fighting seriously the very instant he reverted to base. Also, Beers wasnt using 70% from the beginning. He ups the ante twice during the fight, first in the cave (when he becomes much faster and SSG Goku cant defend himself at all, until he starts fighting seriously) and a second time at the end. He was clearly afraid of the Kamehameha, screaming in terror and all, so my guess is he was supressed enough for it to hurt him, but increased his power to 70%, the point where he would be unharmed by it.

Super Sayain God doesn't need a Super Saiyan. We lack pure-hearted saiyans, but the lack of Super Saiyan isn't the problem. Naturally Toei wasn't trying to foreshadow God, but if we look at something in hindsight that makes just as little sense in hindsight as it did in 1992...

I heard no discernible difference in Kusao's Trunks performance in the movie versus the old days. Furthermore, they're generally still doing these voice performances every year via video games, and we also know they're actively working on Kai, and that version of Trunks is a big focus for what they've clearly been working on for the last year or so.

Hmm, I guess it's must be just my ears then, but I'm sure Trunks used to have less of a high pitched voice, for example, when I'd hear Trunks' voice I'd have been able to tell it was an adult, whereas in the new movie I wouldn't get that impression, it sounded a bit too put on, but like I said, maybe it's just me. Plus I haven't been playing much of the DBZ games. maybe it's that gradually his voice has been getting slightly changed bit by bit to the point where it's not as noticeable to others, but I can definitely notice a change.

Are you saying that Takeshi Kusao's voice for Trunks sounds different for his Buu arc child form (and thus also Battle of Gods) than it does for the Future Trunks you see in the Cell arc?

Well... yes! He does a child voice for the child version of the character. It's always been that way. It's really no different than what Masako Nozawa did for Goku as a child versus Goku as an adult (except it's sorta in reverse, since we meet Trunks as an older teenager before we meet him as an eight-year-old).

So that should clear that up, unless you're saying what I thought you were saying at first, which is that Kusao's child-Trunks voice sounds even higher now than his child-Trunks voice did in the past, which I don't think is the case at all.

The thing about the fight is that while great at all it didn't feel like a 'Battle of Gods' it felt more like Goku vs Freeza usual DBZ stuff.
Only near the end when they were in space did I feel that the fight was entering a 'Godlike' dimension.

Nope, I'm aware that it's the same person who voices Trunks, what I meant is what I was saying at first, Trunks' voice seems to have changed to how he used to sound, maybe more high pitched isn't the right way to say it, but he sounds more squeaky than he did during the Buu arc, that's what I meant, before you could tell that the person voicing him is really an adult impersonating a child, but his performance in Battle if Gods is a bit more harder to tell, like i said maybe it's just me but I can notice a change. I'm going to watch an old episode to check a bit later, I'm sure it's changed a bit.

That's nice to hear. Since BOG did well then I hope AT will be back unless he is busy or he ask too much money to return. If Toei gets full control on the next movie then I have a feeling it will suck. I don't want Toei rehash old ideas again like they did with GT and the other DBZ movies.

Oricon's fourth week Japanese home video sales:

[DVD] Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods - 2,125 / 22,958
[DVD] Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Special Limited Edition - 522 / 17,570

Much like the third week, neither Blu-Ray SKUs charted, but the regular release's DVD sales increased by about 300 units. Conversely, that version jumped up to second place on the DVD charts, after having been tenth the week prior. The Special Limited Edition stayed steady at spot 21. The previous known total for the Blu-Rays has the Special Limited Edition at 20,805 copies sold, while the regular release last charted with 8,483 copies.

Neither Special Limited Edition SKUs charted this week, indicating sales of under 282 units on DVD, and under 415 units on Blu-Ray. Presumably the "Limited" part of its name is taking effect, and stock is running low. Meanwhile, the regular Blu-Ray release returns to the chart at number 8, with the DVD version slipping to fifth.

Total sales should be at least 73,246 units. As Toei did not share expectations for the film's home video performance it's difficult to provide any additional commentary.

Sixth week sales:

No Blu-Ray versions of the film charted.

Total sales should be at least 74,204 units combined over all releases.
