And this is why your videos always look fantastic! I always thought Kai episodes looked a little... dull. Like they turned the contrast down too far.

A lot look AWESOME on Blu-Ray, i.e. the Freeza saga. But a lot of the Saiya-jin saga ones are pretty washed out.

Yeah. Personally, I thought the Freeza saga had the most work put into it. Or it at least looked the best, imo.

That's because they didn't smooth the crap outta the ink lines and make it look modern. The awesome rough line detail is a key to hi-def cel-drawn anime for me at least.

Well, that goes for two of us then :D They did seem to start smoothing the lines out though towards the end of the saga, I think. Comparing say, episodes 37 and 50, it's like night and day in terms of quality to me.

Exactly. It's like, "You guys already put it in 16:9 for broadcast. Let's just leave it at that!" Oh well. Kai on Blu ray loses to the DBox, but it beats everything else in terms of picture quality imo.
Aaaaand... I may have found LITERALLY the best DBZ dub EVER.

Never really noticed how much brighter the original touch ups were until now. I like what this guy did.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

Nah. This is exactly what Funimation does with their releases and I don't like it. High contrast and saturated colours doesn't equate to a 'remaster'.
Nappa's skin in the first shot looks horrendous.
