I don't know, after living with green eyes for so long, red eyes just seems like a huge cliche. And having the heroes look like bloodthirsty villains really doesn't fit well with the goofy nature of DBZ.

When Fpssj powers up it should be red like how the hair gets darker. Have the eyes black when they're at the restinf states

Yeah, I think the eyeliner symbolizes the all red as when he closes his eyes well, you get that. I like the brown fur, though id make it abit darker. Along the lines of this or Gogeta's fur.

What about it? You think they would be intimidating in their relaxed state and carefree faces just because they have red eyes? I don't. It would be pretty much the same since the way they act would be the same.

The theme of the color red is generally passion, lust, fury, etc.

If we're talking about changing the color of super saiyan eyes, we ought to have a reason for it. All of the pictures so far have made red-eyed super saiyans looking incredibly ominous and threatening, which works in the context of battle, but me sitting here trying to imagine Goku having post-ROSAT lunch with those evil eyes while giggling and being typical Goku doesn't really work in my head.

If there is one thing I have always thought that DBZ did well, it's the subtle representations of the main characters. Having five-thousand different variations of super saiyan is pretty over the top, but as I said above, it's not like SSJ2 Gohan popped out a pair of wings and grew some fangs or something.

And possibly thiner body and pinkish red hair as well, emphasizing the cuteness to counter the "strength-like" eyes and super out-of-this-world aura.
His hair being unchanged in shape certainly help giving us the sense that it's good old, good-mood Goku.

I feel comfortable with red eyes in the Super Saiyan God because despite it, you still see a cool Goku.
But when seeing all of those pictures of regular Super Saiyan forms with red eyes, I feel uncomfortable with the guy essentially looking like the Terminator or Wesker, the red-eyed Super Saiyan really looks like he's... devoid of soul or something, like a cyborg thinking "exterminate, exterminate, exterminate...". You get the sense that they're mad all the time, when this form quickly have nothing to do with rage as the story goes on.
I can't picture young and innocent Goten and Trunks with red eyes as if blood lust was driving them when it has nothing to do with the Super Saiyan for them.

I don't like that representation because I think on the contrary, the Super Saiyan is more a noble (in a "warrior" sense) soul that has transcended natural limits due to an overwhelming sense of emergency. It's supposed to look impressive, but not evil or raging, it's a warrior of light, a "golden warrior". The nervousness of Super Saiyans is just a side effect that Goku and Gohan learn to get rid off, and that young Goten and Trunks might never even experience at all.
It's not because you usually first reach it through rage that the form is a symbol of rage, and as I said, I can't see it fitting goofy characters and situations. Rage is not what the Super Saiyan is about, being a shiny power-up filled with light is what it's about... to me, anyway.

Visually, somehow, red eyes and blond hair don't form a nice combination with Dragon Ball characters (whereas I never had any particular problem seeing red eyes when blond Naruto lets his Kurama side take over a little). But again, it's purely due to personnal preferences: even aside of the concept, I don't like what Super Saiyan 1/2/3 hair color combined with red eyes is like visually.

BUT I agree that it could fit Super Saiyan 4 very well, it is absolutely not shocking when you look at such a picture, it even looks better than the original yellow eyes in my opinion and possibly any eye color for that form, and is rightfully reminiscent of the Great Ape form due to the fact that it's truly a balanced mix between the human and the beast! If they take the fur from the beast side, why not taking the red of their eyes as well? I like Super Saiyan 4 with red eyes.

Here's my impression of what a red eyed SSJ looks like. I added those white dots to be sort of a substitute for pupils, and it gives Goku a bit more "meaner" look.
