Red eyes Super Saiyan

SSJG Goku has red eyes. Do you think he is evil or something like that when you are looking at him? I don't think so, and that's because his way of acting and expression is not evil looking. It would be the same if FPSSJs had red eyes.

I haven't seen the movie yet.

Well if the color doesn't matter, then why are we talking about it?

The color matters, I just don't think that because a character has red eyes he is evil looking. Doesn't make sense to me.

Well, I mean, an evil look doesn't have to be horns/fangs/bat wings/Oozaru eyes/claws/etc. to make the saiyan look like Satan incarnate (no pun intended).

Red eyes are pretty menacing on their own. Like Cold Skin said, it's like looking at the Terminator.

I wonder how the yellow iris with black pupils and sclera would look like on a Saiyan, even though all I can think of when I see them are Hollow eyes from Bleach. Something like this

For example, Piccolo can look like a demon if he is acting all evil and laughing maniacally and his face and color surely helps in making him look like an evil demon in those circumstances... But if he acting normal, or goofy like in some moments in the Buu saga, he doesn't look like a demon at all, despite the format of his face and whatnot.

It matters because different colors can look cooler or more badass in certain situations (or the opposite). For example, a red eyed SSJ would look more badass when he gets all serious and intimidating in a fight than a blue eyed SSJ. But that wouldn't make him look automatically evil if he doesn't act evil or has an evil expression, like in situations where he is acting normal or goofy. Its more out of the ordinary than blue, sure, but so what? So is Piccolo's face which works as a demon's face. Piccolo Daimao looked evil and a true demon but Kami, who had the same face, never did look evil.

Very nice work Sin, and as I thought, the black eyeliner works great on SSJ4, especially when paired with the red eyes. Then again red and black is always a great combo.


EDIT - Now I know this thread is meant for red eyes, but what if when a Saiyan went SSJ, their hair remained black? I bring this up because of the famous Goku coloring error

It would work for Goku although it wouldn't be very impressive at all. But it would be very confusing for characters like Vegeta.

I remember seeing a picture of black-haired teen Gohan with green eyes, on one of those french fries packets that had DBZ tazos or whatever inside, and it looked sweet. Always liked that as an alternate look.

Well...DBZ/GT did come before Naruto and besides, if you are saying red eyes on a transformation is like Naruto then theres dozens of anime that would be guilty of that. Red eyes is just a popular thing.

Now that my rant is done. I was watching sone Hajime no ippo fights I think it was Hawk. His eyes turned red during the fight. Maybe red could changr depending on their mood. While Green is the other moods. Red is rage. Most anime has done this. Even in gag form

Didn't the korean poster for BoG have that too?
Since Gohan wasn't a Super Saiyan until briefly in the ring, they probably edited the picture. But I have no idea why they left the green eyes. I can't believe if they just didn't notice it.
