Yea, maybe I should have posted it here being its 100% on topic here.

So yea, Lance said they would be doing the whole series in fold out book form (wich I like to call FOB Form) in season boxes. :D

While stranger things have happened, I'm seriously doubting this will actually happen. I mean, the quantity of the work and the deadline are really against them if they are still dealing with possibilities.

Oh yes, I've commented on that blog. I thought he literally meant a official AnimeNEXT blog.

Not many fans would really care anyways.

Except us. :?

I too doubt the existence of Dragonbox prints on these box sets.

But, I really don't care, since I'll be able to get the whole series for WAAAY cheaper.

$50. 30+ episodes. Uncut. English & Japanese. I'm good. That's all I need.

BTW, these fold out "book" sets for the season sets are going to be like the newer Blue Gender box.

I'm defeinately buying this. Oh, and another thing. In tribute to the Vegeta Saga, I have re-dubbed a scene of his. Enjoy.

Wow. I went and splurged on the fricking Dragon Box and now I find out I could have gotten the WHOLE SERIES for less than a quarter of what I spent for one of the boxes (Z vol. 1.)

We all knew it was coming. Amazon.com is now selling DragonBall Z - Season One: Vegeta Saga (Uncut) DVD for $34.99. It's free shipping since it's over $25. And Movie 13 is $17.49 from Amazon.com as well, if anyone was interested. The beginning of the series and the end of the movies in the span of just two weeks.

Fantastic! This makes me a very happy fan. :D Though I doubt the sets will have the Dragonbox footage. Toei probably wouldn't like people importing vastly cheaper sets than buying their DVDs.

Boy: Does Santa exist?
Dad: Of course he does. And while I'm at it, FUNi does stand a snowball's chance of getting the remastered DragonBox footage!
Boy: ...

But I still hope that they'll get the remasters. Who really knows until they're released? Maybe Toei just needs some... persuasion (begins creation of a potion to turn VegettoEX into VegerotEX at will) ...

I'm sure we won't be getting the DragonBox prints. FUNimation already holds the rights to the entire series and I don't think they are willing to pay more money for a series they already have. And Toei is still releasing the series in individual discs in Japan (The two DragonBoxes were limited time only, correct?) and to allow the U.S. to release the remastered episodes at a far better deal would not be smart on their part. I'll bet we'll be getting the episodes that FUNimation has already released on DVD since they have already prepared them for release.

I do hope that FUNimation does go back to some of the older episodes (Ginyu, Freeza) and put back the opening and ending animation and the eye-catches.

I agree with you, but what if Spain gets the DragonBox prints? Then I'd say its almost possible. We're just going to have to wait and see what happens with that.

The fact Spain's getting them is the only thing that gives me hope that we'll get them... But with the release coming in a few months, shouldn't the discs be put together already!? I think they're trying to feed us a by plateful of BS so we'll shut up and buy it in hopes its DragonBox quality.

I think they know the answer already... and it's most likely "no"...

If FUNimation does have plans to release the movies, we probably won't find out until they make an official announcement stating their plans for the season sets or near the end of the releases for the season sets. There is no telling how soon that might be since we have no idea on when Season Two will be releases. It's just wait and see for now.

Well, we know that they've been releasing the DBZ movies in sets of three. But in the case of the soon-to-be-out Broly movie "trilogy," they're not really in order :?.

I guess if they're gonna release the entire series in fold-out-book format with an incredibly small possibility of there being the remastered footage, then I guess a complete movies set is possible. However, if you've seen some of the prices that the older DBZ FUNi movie DVDs are being sold at on sites like amazon, then you're better off just getting them all individually.

Even if FUNi announcs that they're gonna release the movies in FOB format, I wouldn't bother getting it unless it has some special features. The only other possibility for the movies is that FUNi gets those remasters, but it would be kind a "two steps back and one step forward" (yeah, I meant to say it like that) kind deal, since they're getting remasters, but losing the top and bottom of the screen. :?

I wonder if they will do the same to DBGT/DB? As far as releasing them in "Dragonbox-esque" form.
