The only difference is that Budokai 2 was actually a really good game that quite a few people still play while BT1 is mostly ignored.

Yes, it was the worst but it has changed the series since. Dragon Ball Z is different now, Battle of Z, Battle Royale, Ultimate Tenkaichi. All of these have different systems but use the Tenkaichi style as inspiration.

I'm pretty sure Zenkai Battle Royale used Gundam Vs. as an inspiration, not Spike's games. You know, on account of them being very similar playing multiplayer focused arcade games running on the same hardware.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.

Either contribute with substance, or don't at all.

Thank you for misinterpreting my point. I didn't say I was unwilling to elaborate, but I have nothing to go on with his original post. It's as if you want me to give the answer to a math problem without first looking at the equation. My original point is based on the fact that you can't argue on which is "better" because everyone will have their own preference. IF he chose to elaborate on WHY he believes the characters/game-play/etc was better, then I would be able to balance the equation with a post suitable for your standard . So in essence, without his elaboration, I have no way of engaging the discussion properly without simply responding: "no uh". Encouraging him to include detail is in no way poor etiquette for debate BUT thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Next time I'll just go stand in the corner.

Yeah, 'cause it's impossible to get inspiration from more than one place.
