I don't think that is true. Toei still makes good shows and Kai was the best version of DBZ in my opinion. Kai would have done better if it was something new instead. Besides, I don't think they can make a show worst then GT. They would have to screw up really badly to make a show worst then GT.

400 new awful DBZ video games (see: all of them) with a new costume for a few characters and maybe a new terrible bunch of "anime manga" where they just take screenshots and make comics from them.

I assume, then, that you're not particularly familiar with Toei's back catalog? GT is one of their better Anime originals.

I think we will get a new series, not anytime soon if we're getting the Buu saga in Kai. It been so long since we had a real new show, so it would be a matter of time when it happens. Just get a good writer and crew that can pull it off. GT had the people behind the Garlic Jr. saga working on GT which is one of the reasons why it sucked.

If we were to get anything regarding a new series, id prefer it to be on if not all of the following.

* A complete retelling of GT from start to end that fixes the errors, plot holes, and character strength issues.

* A series focused on Goku and Vegeta Jr. with new characters, enemies, and locations.

* A prequal series on the Saiyan homeworld that was destroyed by the original Super Saiyan. Show how and why they left, how the original Super Saiyan came to be.

I particularly want the third most. Legend of Korra's Beginnings special shows that a origin story done right can do absolute wonders for a series.

The original Super Saiyan destroying Planet Saiya is a dub/fan hybrid bullshit. Vegeta said that the last Super Saiyan (not the original) appeared 1000 ago (who seems to be Bardock), and the GT Perfect Files say that Planet Saiya is probably still around.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I dont count the Bardock special. If I consider anything bullshit it was that special.

Regardless, a special/movie showing the original Saiyan homeworld would be a interesting and refreshing change of pace.

Episode of Bardock was based on a manga from Naho Oishi. Blame her and not Toei since they just animated it.

Well, it doesn't matter if you count Episode of Bardock, since it's an official story, and Shueisha acknowledges to the point that they included it in the manga-based Chozenshuu, and Chozemshuu 4 includes it to the official timeline, so...

I don't see much point in disregarding stuff people will bring up anyway. Trust me, I wish EoB didn't exist as much as the next guy, but it does, and we have to deal with it.

It says "new series", and I wouldn't trust it any further than I could throw the building the magazine was printed in.

Some of the most tenacious rumors get started in the Spanish-speaking fandom, even from people who should know better.

I would definitely like a series that exams the political ramifications of the war with the Red Ribbon Army on the King's administration. Surely the King's political rivals took aim at his administration over his hands-off approach to the affair. How many people had to die and suffer before that bastard lifted a finger to help his constituents--his subjects!

A North American release of Battle of Gods, the movie Dragon Box, and something with the original series whether it's the dragon box or it being on Blu-ray.

Why do Latin American companies keep using fan art in their official stuff? I never trust rumors originated from Latin America anyway. They've spread rumors about a new series so many times and I'm enough of it.

Toriyama is writing and animating a new series that uses information from new scans of the Kanzenshuu!1!!!1!

OK, so now that I got that out of the way...

It's almost a given that there'll be something coming out from FUNimation each year, but in terms of anniversary-related stuff, I think it's more likely for that sort of thing to come out of Japan. I am interested to see which one they'll push more, though; 25 years of DBZ or 30 years of the Manga? I'd imagine they'll do both, since '30 years' isn't until late 2014, but I'm tempted to think that they'll push '25 years' slightly more, since Z is the bigger cash-cow.

Maybe to older fans, but the kids will love it. Dragon Ball is for kids and the target audience isn't us, it's aimed at younger audiences around 5-11. Bandai and Toei will get a lot of money from cards.

One look at Yugioh only proves that (despite the anime quality going taking a turn off a cliff).

Though id really hope Dragonball wont turn into a series thats around only to promote merchandise like Yugioh and Beyblade.
