Strange GT dub
I was going through some old VHS tapes of mine, and I came across an old one labeled "DBGT".
I popped it in to the VCR and it begins playing the last 5 episodes of Dragonball GT. They were dubbed in english, but these were certainly not the FUNimation voices (which came as no surprise to me since I'm pretty sure I recall buying this bootlegged.) The part that really surprised me was that the footage clearly displays the "Toonami" logo in the top right corner.
Does anyone know anything about this weird dub?

There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

Miss. Veshira, allow me to congratulate you on your most excellent idea.
Because, as it turns out, the theory of these dubs being from the UK is 100% accurate.
The voices match up almost perfectly.

That's Miss Veshira to you!
Glad to hear you found out what this mysterious dub was, however something puzzles me. You said the tapes were old, but wasn't DBGT dubbed by Ocean Group after Funimation dubbed it? There's a huge chance that I just have my information wrong, but I'm still wondering.

Well actually I just remembered where I got the tape from. I borrowed it from my friend and never returned them
. So I had always assumed it was old but I guess not.
Also, I am soo sorry about the gender mix-up. Totally my bad.
There should some kind of indicator.

Haha. Very funny.unstable_person99 wrote:So I was right after all. On the subject of gender, I just want to tell you that I'm a girl too, in case you didn't know.

Erm, anyway... Yes. The opening to the UK version is very cool. It's strange that my mum thinks it was done by Ozzy Osbourne. Hmm...

I, too, like the Blue Water dub. However, I feel that some of the voices were lacking: Vegeta sounded like a bad Brian Drummond impression; Goku had a "I have a typical superhero voice that tries too hard to not sound like a typical superhero voice" voice.
But I still like it.

Whoa.... are you meaning to tell me that Brian Drummond wasn't Vegeta's VA in the Blue Water Dub?The Tori-bot wrote:I, too, like the Blue Water dub. It means "unicorn."BrollysKin wrote:What does the symbol in your avatar mean?

I believe it's the same man, but yes, I've seen some Buu Saga clips of the Blue Water dub, and Vegeta wasn't sounding as good as he was in the Saiyan Saga and Namek Saga. Same goes for Goku, although I have no idea who was playing him in Blue Water.LegendarySSJ7 wrote:Whoa.... are you meaning to tell me that Brian Drummond wasn't Vegeta's VA in the Blue Water Dub?
