I used to love Drummond in seasons 1-2, but when he returned in the newer Ocean dub, I thought he sounded out of practice and didn't fit well for the more buff Cell saga Vegeta.

I still liked what I heard from Scott in the clips I saw, but his screaming (mostly in the 17 vs. Piccolo fight) sounded more like his Duo role from Gundam Wing.

I guess some of you have know this for a while, but the new Ocean dub was made because the execs in Canada and other countries absolutely HATED season 3. So they thought they can spend a lot of money to get the old talent back, but I personally think it totally backfired on them. :?

I still love Ian Corlett as Goku and always will since he captured the innocence and the power on the mark. I do think Kelamis sounds closer to Masako Nozawa, but in the wrong way. I think dubbing is not about matching the japanese voice, but having the voice sound "right" for the character. Last year at Anime Expo, I heard Ryo Horikawa do his Vegeta voice in english... and wasn't exactly moved by the result.

Yeah, Drummond never did quite hit the heights of his Seasons 1 & 2 performances in the UK/Canadian Ocean eps, he was pretty average (and I hate to say this about Drummond as he's a legend, but at times sounded awful too) in the Cell Saga, although I thought his SSJ transformation scene was cool especially with the line: "So tell me, does a machine like you ever experince fear?"

Then at the start of the Buu saga, he started to sound good again, and I remember at the time expecting some season 2-esque perfromaces from him in the Majin Vegeta eps, but for whatever reason, he dipped again at those episodes and returned to his Cell saga form (i.e. mediocre), and it was compounded by the fact by when compared side by side with Sabat, Sabat was much better in those eps IMO, although to be fair it's not so much that Drummond was that bad, but Sabat was actually quite good in the Majin Vegeta eps.

But then suddenly Drummond comes out with this amazing perfomance in the "Final Atonement" episode, easily the best emotioal performance from any of the English VA's in DB, and his awesome scream at the end was just the iceing on the cake. And even with a 30-40 epsiode absence after the Atonement episode he carried this awesome form into the Super Buu/Kid Buu eps, with some lines that almost rivaled the Season 2 "Wrath" scene ("THE SAIYAN PRINCE WILL NOT FALL AGAIN!" and "Raise your hands right now or you're all going to DIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE!").

As I said, while overall Drummond wasn't as good as he was in Seasons 1 & 2 in the UK/Canadian dub, he still had his moments, his Atonement episode was just a thing of greatness, and his late Buu saga episodes were pretty damn close at times to matching his Season 1 & 2 self.

A little question about the Ocean version: They used the material from FUNi, right (You can see it in the episode titlecard I believe)?
So, the episode titles are exactly the same as for the FUNi episodes.

But the last episodes (or THE last?) is from AB (the French company), am I correct? (The video quality is bad, huh?) So, what is the title of the last Ocean episode? Is it the same as for the FUNi version (I believe it is "Goku's Next Journey").

Nope.

The Blue Water dub doesn't even have title cards. The titles just pop up during the beginning of the episode. Also, their titles actually try and match the original Japanese ones, to an acceptable standard anyway..

EDIT: If you meant DBZ, ignore this.

Yeah, they used FUNimation's video.

Except for the last three episodes, I believe.
Where's the beef?

It was the last 4 videos they used the AD masters for. The episode titles where the same as FUNimation's, being:

He's Always Late
Granddaughter Pan
Buu's Reincarnation
Goku's Next Journey

They just never used the title cards and instead used a still shot from the episdoe and placed the episdoe title on top. Like a still of the Capsule Corp building a night was used for "He's always late".

If i remember right what i read back in the days when dragonball-z.co.uk and oceandb.net where still up and running they had to use the AB versions since the FUNImation masters for those eps where not available or ready yet. The UK did finish the kid buu saga quite a while before it aired on Cartoon Network in the states so i guess they just wanted to get the dub out the way and finished using what was available.

One of my biggest problems with Sean's Goku is that he does TOO MUCH grunting and noises where they shouldn't be. Best example would be (no, not Kamehame-Dump) in the Season 2 redub where Goku is caught in a magnetic storm while hanging upside down. As Goku swings around in circles in the 100G, he has a serious face with his mouth closed. However, we can hear Sean clearly forcing a tooth-gritting grunt after grunt.

Ian and Peter were great during the time. Peter was a bit wonky at first, but he improved (especially for movie 2). Kirby, while I've heard only a few clips during the Boo saga, does a great job capturing Goku's light-hearted and goofy nature. I've not heard him when he's fighting, so I can't give an opinion on that.

Speaking of Goku, on the topic of GT, I actually liked Blue Water Kid Goku's voice. He sounded pretty much like a kid. As did Pan. Hell, Pan sounded more like a child and more like the original Pan's character than FUNi's did. o_o
