Good job respecting everyone's opinion. To me Ultimate Tenkaichi-Blast and Burst Limits had the best DB graphics. Also Raging Blast Graphics are better than RB2. Rb2 look like shiny actions dolls to be honest.hulkty wrote:Seriously...Why did they decide to go back to Early Day PS2 Graphics?
RB2's graphics where ALMOST perfect. EASILY the best of any DBZ related game yet.

I'd like to see which PS2 games you were playing in 2001, and 2002.

Tenkaichi/RB relied on 1v1 battles whereas Battle of Z will have always 4v4 so that means a lot of constant in-screen items will be used and with that they have to sacrifice the graphics.
I couldn't careless about the graphics, they're fine what I wonder is if the gameplay is fun. December's coming up so I'll find out. ^_^
P.S.: RB2 graphics were basically plastic figures' graphics in a video game.

The best looking PS2 games of 2000-2003 was Metal Gear Solid 2 and Final Fantasy X in my opinion. None of those games look as good as this game and I would totally shit my pants if I saw this game if I was 10 - 12. I'm starting to think hulkty is a troll and we are better off ignoring him (I just put him on my ignore list). Just move on folks.

Should't call another member a troll. That's disrespect even if it's true(not saying it is). But he did KINDA come off as a stereotypical internet gamer or a stereotypical child who only knows about the HD era and anything that doesn't look ALL that good is graphics similar to Ps2 early days. Sorry for talking bad. Just saying this game DOES not look anything like Early Ps2.Hellspawn28 wrote:The best looking PS2 games of 2000-2003 was Metal Gear Solid 2 and Final Fantasy X in my opinion. PS2 games running on the original hardware will never look as good as a 360/PS3 title, however, if you use a PS3 60GB/80GB or PCSX2 then that's another story.
Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 both look great on a PS3 60GB though they have jaggie lines but other than that you'd think they'd be PS3 launch games. GT4 looks pretty spectacular if I may say so.
Ah, that reminds me I still need to finish Tenkaichi 3's story to unlock Gogeta SSJ4.

This has probably been brought up, but who's composing the music for the game? I'd guess the Japanese version is using Kikuchi's score, but after the whole Yamamoto Kai deal, is a new person creating an "international score?" Could we actually see Kikuchi's used overseas?

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I, personally, never said the graphics were PS2-level, specifically. Despite Sagas indeed being a PS2-era game, it's still clear to see the art direction that was taken with the models. And it's hard to dispute the fact that, even with the PS2's capabilities, the accuracy of the models (not the detail or complexity) is closer to the source in the Sparking!/Tenkaichi games than in Battle of Z.
It would be great if we could get past the childish bickering that's been plaguing this board as of late. Please?

I know. That's why I said 'I personally'. Just making the point that it's not really a matter of the console's power, but of the style or direction. Battle of Z's raw graphics are average at best for PS3. Maybe that's what hulkty meant?TheGmGoken wrote:We wasn't talking about you......

I honestly don't know what you mean by "personally" since we was talking about Hulkty's quote. Maybe you can word it diffrently perhaps? Something like "I personally think" not "I personally never said". Untill(If he does) Hulk explains himself then we won't know for sure. But maybe we all took it wrong when he said Early Ps2 days.Thanos wrote:I know. That's why I said 'I personally'. I can only speak to the Xbox 360 version of Raging Blast 2, but the plastic-y models and reflections made the screen white out towards the center on occasion. It really was not an attractive game.

That Gohan model is terribad!
Geez, i have never seen such blocky models since the Nintendo 64 days!
Also i hate RB2 models, and i hate glossy models in general. They make the characters look like dolls and they stone so much with the maps. The modes in RB2 didn't fit the enviroments at all.
Namco should take props from the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, those are models done right.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I agree. Although some of the RB2 models were basically perfect (SSJ3 Goku, for one), my biggest issue with them wasn't gloss, but the fact that they were too round. I think Sparking!/Tenkaichi got it right... the only caveat being the hardware limitations and jagginess--I guess somewhere between that and where RB2 was... but they just went mental with the roundness. Also... Vegeta's face still bugs me. I think they pretty much got it right visually on Ultimate Blast/Tenkaichi (including Vegeta's face), but who cares about that game?Flame Dragon wrote:Also i hate RB2 models, and i hate glossy models in general. Something about the S!M/BT3 graphics really nailed it for me. A lot of the characters are just spot-on. I really think an HD version (*cough* make it happen, Namdai) would really benefit that look.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I do! I avoided that game like the plague almost the entire time it's been out because of all the negativity I've seen piled upon it. Recently however, I watched a few videos of it on YouTube and, after getting a good look at what I consider to be the best in-game representations of Toriyama's characters, I had to play it for myself. And of course, barring the big boss battles, it ended up being my favorite Dragonball game to date! In my opinion, "Battle of Z" is a tremendous step backward visually. The animations look really awkward to me and the character models are ridiculous in the truest sense of the word. Which is a damn shame because I was really excited for it!Thanos wrote:I agree. *sigh* Alright, alright. Seems like some are getting annoyed by my post for some reason, so I'll explain.
...but 1st off, I'll say I am 21 and my first game system was a Nintendo.
2nd...I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm not a "troll". I just post how I would talk IRL instead of text chating like most on the internet.
Anyway, regarding my earlier post, I STILL say the graphics are bad enough (when compared to today's times...but still just kinda bad in general) to be put on the PS2 consule.
Using a wrestling game's graphics weren't a good matchup. Maybe another DBZ game. ...Still, the only big difference in quality was the darkness in the pictures, but that's it...
I still stand by my "opinion" that RB2 has the best graphics...even though it's actually a fact.
They also look nothing like rubber, plastic, or action figures and I have no idea how people see it that way. I've relooked over and over at all angles and see no such thing...
I wasn't saying people shouldn't share opinions, but that facts or facts. RB2 simply has the best graphics and there's no fighting it... If you don't like that, then just ignore my post.
BoZ is confirmed to be bad anyway so all this extra posting seems kind of unnecessary now anyway...

Fact? That's not a fact. That's YOUR opinion. Burst Limits or Ultimate Tenkaichi ARGUABLY had the best graphics IMO. But it's not fact. Your opinion isn't fact. I used a wrestling game because it was an example of Early Ps2 days. The only difference was not the darkness. There is no similarities besides block style graphics.
