DragonBall characters compared to other characters

Post by Kay » Tue Jun 27, 2006 12:49 am

Don't you think some anime characters are like DBZGT characters? Yoh and Lenny of Shaman King compared to Goku and Vegeta, Lenny and Vegeta are much more... mature than those two.

I remember awhile back a site comparing Master Roshi with Genkai from YYH. Especially how their students took their deaths pretty hard and avenged them.

Goku - Luffy (Definatley...the eating, the attitude...)

Vegeta - Sasuke (How he'll do anything for power, even sell his soul...)

Kame'Sennin - Jiraya (Yet another Naruto comparison, though I think this one is self explantitory)

^^
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Naruto and Goku...

- Yellow/Golden hair
- Orange/blue outfits
- Special power ups in intense situations

I still think Sasuke is the lame version of Vegeta. :P

You know I also sometimes think Gaara is a little like Vegeta. He started out not understanding what things like love were and protecting those you love and then learned through defeat with an opponent that did.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

How, "Zoro" & "Mirai Trunks"......oh wait there's not much comparison aside from the swords......(been watching too much of those "D.O.N Promos").

There's also No.18 & Nico Robin, appearance wise.

I think Monkey D. Luffy's personallity is pretty much modelled on Goku.

Kiba and Gohan.

Seriously Usui and Tao Pie Pie. I know Watsuki himself said he was modeled off him.

Cause of they share a voice actor? :P

Tetsuo from Akira and Vegeta. They're both brutal murderers (at some point), ruthless (at some point), and they go crazy a lot. Also, they're kind of both insane. (Well, Vegeta gets better, but Tetsuo's definately batty.)

Goku and Luffy from One Piece. Uh, yeah. They're both goofy, they're both innocent, they both has super strength, Goku has an extending Nyoibou and Luffy can stretch. :D They both eat a lot. They rarely get angry. They both like to fight. They're both searching for a treasure of some kind, at some point. They both belong to a group with at least one cute, adorible animal mascot with shapeshifting abilities. They live by the sea at some point. They have similar accents Japanese anime (I think, but I'm not sure), and played by female voice actresses which work on both shows at some point. They both eat "forbidden" fruit... Oda-sensei is a rabid Toriyama-sensei fanboy...

Did I miss anything?

I'll write more characters later, since right now I'm burning the midnight oil.
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

Really? I find him to be more like "Piccolo". If you think about it they're both get attached to the kindness &/or friendship of the Protagonists (Son Goku & Saint Seiya) & they both have someone they care about to protect (Son Gohan & Andromeda Shun). Interestingly Shun was voiced by Ryo Horikawa, who did the voice of Vegeta.

EDIT: Also they were both bad/evil at some point in the series.

Now that I think about it, with the Vegeta/Hiei comparisons, did Hiei turn good before Vegeta did or vice-versa?I know YYH started in 1990 and the Android saga started in 1991, but which happened first?

I don't think thats a Dragonball reference. Its more of a stereotypical Japanese thing. Dirty old men are in a lot of anime's, so are a lot of other things people are saying here. There not necessarily inspired from DBZ, but rather Japanese characteristics.

But don't get me wrong, a lot of shows are obviously inspired by Dragonball.

Garlic Jr. - Greasor (from Zatch Bell)

Seriously, they're both Toei filler villans, both are the same color and size, both have pointed ears, and both are able to grow into monsters that look alike.

Of course, that's just Toei being lazy.
I also go by "veemonjosh".
