Not really "my" purchase, but my Mum is getting the BOG poster, that came with the DVD, block mounted as a Christmas present.

Gotta love parents sometimes. :D

Got the Rock the Dragon box set about a month back. I'm enjoying it immensely.
There is no Dragon Ball canon.

Last thing I bought? Like from a couple months ago...?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is a knock off product since I bought it from a shop that had knock off toys and bootlegged DVDs... but it's pretty... and cheap... at least the balls aren't cheap rubber and actually made of plastic... with a cushion base!

Yeah I think I saw these at a Comic-Con recently. The box was being sold for £75 which is pretty expensive for a bootleg...then again it is Comic-Con where they jack up the prices a bit.

How is the presentation of the set? I'm curious about the booklet of facts and such. I already have the equivalent episodes of the Rock the Dragon set from the old Pioneer DVDs, but they are extra-less.
A YouTube channel with no AMVs on it? I know, it's hard to believe.

In total £20.50 for the three boxsets. Just need The Lost Episodes Box and I've got the entire DBGT with Dragon Box-like quality.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

It's just how they are.

Here's the Complete DBGT Boxset containing Lost Episodes, from a different eBay seller.

I've gotta buy that Lost Episodes Box before starting the DBGT journey.

The book covers Dragon Ball Z's beginnings on Toonami. Then you have character bios, a chart showing how the characters relate to one another, a timeline that covers landmarks of the show, and lastly, it covers the Ocean dub's legacy with the memes and ridiculous edits.

It's fluff, really, but it's nice to see it get acknowledged. Nothing on the discs, although the TV version of Movie 3 is there, which, to my knowledge, has never been released before. Obviously the Pioneer dub is much better, but I'm glad it's part of the set, if for no other reason than posterity.

Just ordered DRAGON BALL GT: THE LOST EPISODES from an Amazon UK seller.

For DBGT this it for me, even if FUNimation does release the Dragon Boxes GT I won't bother buying them.

Not a terrible haul, I'd say. :P (A haul with DB is a good haul indeed.)

Are these old GT sets better than the FUNi Remastered release?

It's a bit of a toss up.

The old singles are as sharp as the Dragon Boxes, but they have terrible encoding, which results in lots of macroblocking during action scenes. On the other hand, the season sets have lots of DNR which smudges details, but the encoding is improved.

Kind of a "pick your poison" situation really. Personally, as I'm not a big fan of GT, I'm fine with the seasons sets since they're much more convenient and look decent enough in my opinion.

Also the old singles are generally just more faithful to how the show was made; Japanese credits are intact for every episode, they have alternate angles for the title-cards, and (I will never understand why this didn't carry over to the season-sets) FREAKING NEXT EPISODE PREVIEWS, MAN.

Were the old singles progressive scan?

Even with a decent interpolation filter I never stop noticing the interlacing on the Z singles. The GT boxes were more recent so maybe... progressive?

No, unfortunately both the singles and Green Bricks for GT are interlaced, but the Dragon Box version is progressive.

The green bricks are interlaced? Even though the Oranges were progressive? That's crappy.
