If you remember, this is GT Trunks, who has been a bit of a slacker. After the debacle with Rigor however, he trained intensely with Vegeta. All he needed was proper motivation

Still, I find it rather weird that he'd even need motivation for Super Saiyan 2. Given how easily he and Goten attained Super Saiyan 1, I wouldn't have thought it'd take much for them to gain any of the forms.

Think of it like this. It most likely didn't take Goku long to get SSj2 but he took angry to get SSJ. So reverse that for Goten and Trunks

It's likely that the purebloods had to work hardest for the transformations, Gohan had it a bit easier, and Goten/Trunks would have it even easier.

I just said "MOST LIKELY". I didn't say it was fact. Not everything need "IMO" when it's pretty damn obvious that it's fact. Vegeta got SSj2 the same way he got SSJ. Intense Training. Gohan didn't have it easy. He had to watch his friends suffer and cyborg dying to go SSj2. I'm saying maybe for SSj2 since Half Breeds got SSJ easily they need emotion for SSj2 while Full Breeds just need to train.

"Most likely" is not anywhere near the same as "IMO". That suggests that the most probable conclusion is that it was easy, that it is supported by the evidence. We have no evidence, and absolutely no idea how easy it was for him. So saying it is "most likely" is just as baseless as saying it's a fact.
