Re: Dragon Ball Game Sales [Ultimate Tenkaichi = 700k ship]
700 seems really bad but not surprising since it seems like only fans buy the games now these days and most of the fans most likely lost interest with the games.

Err, unless you're comparing these sales to Call of Duty, Mario, Pokemon, or some other major Nintendo franchise I don't know how you'd call 700,000 units "really bad". Is it worse than Burst Limit and the PS2 games? Yes, but given the quality of these games it's a lot more than they deserve.

If they were a Raging Blast 3 or Budokai Tenkaichi 4 the games that 'hardcore' and 'die-hard' fans want it may've gotten higher sales.Hellspawn28 wrote:700 seems really bad but not surprising since it seems like only fans buy the games now these days and most of the fans most likely lost interest with the games.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I do believe UT has outsold RB2, so that's something.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Dragon Ball Game Sales [Ultimate Tenkaichi = 700k ship]
Media Create Top 1000 Japanese Games are out now:
[NDS] Dragon Ball Kai: Ultimate Butouden - 93,169 (62% first week sell through with 31,108 sold in that span)
Surprisingly great results!
[PS3] Dragon Ball: Ultimate Blast - 68,562 (62% first sell through with 44,593 sold in that span)
Meh.
[WII] Dragon Ball Z Sparking! Meteor (Everybody's Special Recommendation Re-Release) - 25,857 sold in 2011, 71,221 total sold, 5046
sold during first week for 52% sell through
This re-release has done quite well.
[PSP] Dragon Ball: Tag Vs - 13,663 sold in 2011, 68,733 total sold, 19,080 sold first week for an outstandingly poor 30% sell through
Wow, that first week was horrible. Luckily it looked like the game rebound a bit.
[PS3] Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 - 9320 sold in 2011, 96,210 total sold, 47,610 sold first week for a 69% sell through
No 100k club for you!
[NDS] Dragon Ball DS 2: Assault of the Red Ribbon Army - 4585 sold in 2011, 58,150 total sold, 17,338 sold first week for a disastrous 23% sell through

Re: Dragon Ball Game Sales [Ultimate Butouden = most JP sale
Some old US figures from June 2005:
PS2 DRAGONBALL Z: BUDOKAI ATARI Dec-02 1,720,666
PS2 DRAGONBALL Z: BUDOKAI2 ATARI Dec-03 1,217,514
GBA DRAGONBALL Z: LEGACY OF GOKU ATARI May-02 1,215,175
PS2 DRAGONBALL Z: BUDOKAI3 ATARI Nov-04 765,344
GBA DRAGONBALL Z: LEGACY OF GOKU II ATARI Jun-03 616,501
GBA DRAGONBALL Z: TAIKETSU ATARI Nov-03 602,875
Look at that. Some of these games outsold Ultimate Tenkaichi's worldwide shipment just in the US.

Re: Dragon Ball Game Sales [Those phone games ... yikes]
XYO is a German phone software sales tracker, and have numbers for pretty much everything including Tap Battle and Boyhood Chapter. There isn't a lot of trackers in this space, so their numbers might not be completely accurate, but it's the best we have.
Dragon Ball: Tap Battle
iPhone - ~23k
Android - ~10k
Dragon Ball RPG: Boyhood Chapter
iPhone - ~14k
Android - ~3k
I don't know what to say. These would be pretty terrible numbers for a DB game on a traditional platform, but depending on your budget you could make money off of that. But at what is effectively $4 (a third of which goes to Google and Apple)? You're going to need a lot more than ~50k across both games.

I actually didn't mind the first series, it annoys the crap out of me now... The first series wasn't actually that bad.Big Momma wrote:I really dislike Ben 10. Ever since it first started, that series has just rubbed me the wrong way.

Ben 10 alien force is actually quite the decent series in it's writing.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:I actually didn't mind the first series, it annoys the crap out of me now... I would like a game pirate warriors like featuring Trunk's Future, and I'd take anything like the Dragon ball Revenge of king Piccolo
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

Re: Dragon Ball games don't sell anymore
Though it can only be so fun when GB plays pretty much the same as every other character. "Oh boy I can play as Gogeta and Vegito....who plays exactly the same as Goku and Vegeta....I just realised I bought a game that has 4 characters and 100 alternate costumes." And a game can have variety as well as polish and depth, just look at Street Fighter. It has a deverse cast that all have different play styles with plenty of characters to choose from especially in SSF4.Rocketman wrote:Speak for yourself. I'd rather play a game where King Vegeta and General Blue can team up to fight a pink-aura'd Future Gohan than a game with "depth" but the same twelve goddamn characters on the same five goddamn stages every single goddamn DBZ fighting game has by goddamn default.Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:People don't wanna play DBZ games with messed-up cameras and cloned fighters, they wanna play a traditional one-on-one fighter with complexity and depth, which Burst Limit provided.
Goddamn.
