Dragon Ball Online - Things we would have gotten?

Post by DBZGTKOSDH » Mon Dec 16, 2013 8:09 am

If it hadn't ended suddenly, what are the things we knew we would get? I remember that we saw something about a TMQ with SS Goku vs Freeza & the Genki Dama as a future skill from the official Facebook page or something like that, and I remember something about Piccolo Daimao from the game files. I also remember hearing something about Penguin Village & Kinto'un some years ago.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Pretty much, those are really the only things I remember:
+Next stage of the flight mechanic--air combat
+TMQ8 (and up), this one specifically covering Goku's transformation
+The end of the Cell-X dungeon
+The Dragon World Challenge card game featuring stuff involving Nappa, Raditz and Vegeta
+The Dragon World Challenge card game featuring Goku and Roshi's first meeting
+The Dragon World Challenge card game featuring the events surrounding Piccolo Daimao and his children.
+Genki Dama skill

West City University was "under construction" in-game. There was also an unused Time Machine in West City that many players assumed was going to be for the final Freeza TMQ. The area south of the Majin starter zone is where Uranai Baba's arena was located. You can see someone visit the unfinished Baba zone here. Artwork exists for Baba, Akkuman-like demons, and Baba's own watercraft. There was also concept art for a pet based on Oolong disguised as panties.
And, of course, there is the Engineering class, Fu, and like 50% of the map.

Was the dungeon incomplete or something? I thought the whole Cell X thing was over with when they moved onto the Kraken.

Did they ever officially unlock the rest of Papaya Island? I thought the quest continued into that portion of the map...
I was just going off my memory here, because I wasn't as involved with the game during it's last couple updates. So, I'm not really certain if it was finished or not.

No, they never did. The last thing they did with Papaya island was opening the dungeon with the robo-Kraken. Cell X was a little before that.
