I didn't like the zoomed in hair turning yellow part... That was hella cheesy. And lol the scream scared me.... Too loud yo. Interested in seeing how Frieza looks like now.

They've stated Freeza would be a CGI model, not some actor dressed in cosplay.

^If that's true then it's going to look awful. Freeza will look like something from a early PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game going by their budget.

did anyone noticed when they showed Goku's hairs turning gold.... the bottom part should be skin colored and not black? Goku has a black colored head LOLOLO
There's room for only one snake, and one big boss.

Had a conversation with them about it here:
https://www.facebook.com/teamfourstar/p ... 3246916615

It's bad, just like the Saiyan Saga trailer was.

Another case of original dub-only fans misinterpreting the series, a bunch of people with talent and passion working out of scope, and an absolute lack of legitimate perspective or goal. They've gone on record to say the the Kai dub was bad and that they used the HOPE OF THE UNIVERSE SPEECH because it's what they grew up with. It's so ridiculous considering that they are so strongly defending casting Son Goku with an Asian actor (whilst casting Krillin with a CAUCASIAN actor) whilst simultaneously never having WATCHED THE ORIGINAL or paying any heed to it.

All this time, passion, talent, and hard work for a mediocre, inaccurate interpretation of the series. A series which, of course, was popular worldwide before it ever had an English dub.

Besides the HOPE OF THE UNIVERSE bull, the trailer looks ugly. It's got some neat effects here or there; the hair follicles turning blond was a nice touch, the eyes turning green were neat. However the debris looks shoddy, the backgrounds look worse than Power Rangers from back in the early 2000s, the hair effects are gaudy and unfinished, the acting is juuust wooden, the scream was lame, and the costuming still needs a little work. But let's be completely honest, the biggest problem here is that they're working out of scope. This is the easiest way to fail. If you work 200 hours on a small scene and make it look great/perfect? Fantastic. If you spend 200 hours on several small scenes and they look bad/mediocre? I'm sorry, but you don't get the excuse of, "We only had so much money/time!" from me. Just make less and make what you DO produce look great!

Am i the only one who doesn't seem to understand how someone prefers the "hope" speech to the Kai one?
And Yikes that background looks bad. (Someone please make a screamer version of "Goku"'s transformation).

The make up effects for Piccolo looked terrible. I seen Troma movies that have better make up work and I bet those cost less then this movie.

I find it funny how in your facebook conversation with them they say they like the Hope of the Universe better then the Kai speech because it was what they grew up with, but yet I saw an interview (the one with Derek Padula) where they said they wanted to use Kai lines because it was more accurate to the original Japanese lines.

You tell 'em Kaiser!

I don't think I'm alone in saying the chi blast effects from the first trailer were awful. They looked like something the kids doing Kamehameha videos on youtube do. I thought with the money they got we could have seen something a bit more substantial in that department.

Despite how corny it is, this video (done by a college student with a $1000 budget, I believe) did a much better job with chi blasts, and the overall action seemed a little more 'dragon ball-ish'. With better actors and a little bit better budget for costumes, this would've really been something.

For what it's worth, I do still get a certain enjoyment out of the speech. I don't ever want to see it come back, and it's corny as hell and totally not Goku, I'm not denying that - but it does hold a certain special place in my heart, and when I do actually bust out my old stuff to watch it, I do smile. It's a faint smile of 'Oh, old-FUNi. How far you've come.' nowadays, but it's still a smile.

All that though, and I still can't stand it's use here, because that line just does not work in the dramatic vein they seem to have tried and failed horribly to do here. You have to do a very campy read to even BEGIN to make a line like that work, you can't go all Dark Knight on it. So...gah. It's just a fail no matter how you slice it.

These guys are hoping that they will be pick up by Machinima. I don't want to sound negative, but I don't think they will get pick up anytime soon.

I don't see why they feel the need to make a live action adaption of Dragon Ball Z rather than doing a fan made film that takes place in the Dragon Ball universe.

With their obvious lack of understanding of the universe/franchise as a whole, I'd find any original interpretation of theirs to be dubious at best.

Agreed. I would imagine all of their fans would consider the film to be canon too.

The delivery in the trailer makes me think Goku is trying to impersonate Batman.
Anyway, it...looks alright (literally). The effects are impressive for a fan production. I actually really liked the shot of the eye changing. On the note of Goku's black scalp, I wonder if they intended it as the scene being monochrome and the energy coming through the hair bringing the colour in. If not, then yes, Goku's scalp is coloured wrong.

Man, can I just say that I love you for how vocal and forward you are about the Kai dub? In part (or entirely) it's my fault for being unable to stay out of YouTube comments but I have a serious chip on my shoulder over all the Kai hate largely coming from people who simply have no idea what they're talking about; as such I take undue satisfaction when I see the kind of statements you make.
I'm tempted to send you a friend request now that I know your facebook...I won't though.

Who's to say whats accurate or not?
That made me laugh. I don't actually mind at all that they used the "I am" speech, but that was just hilariously dumb.

The delivery of the line was pretty bad, though. I liked the first trailer, but I don't have very high hopes for this one.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

For me just the fact that Goku actually refers to himself as 'Son Goku' in Kai's speech makes it leagues beyond the Hope speech.

Ah, the good ol' "Z dub is what we grew up with, we think the Kai dub is bad, 'accurate' is relative" bologna. Never gets old.

Kind of funny that they go to so much effort to produce something which they feel is more "faithful" to Dragon Ball than Evolution and so forth, yet they waste all this talent and effort emulating the bad old FUNimation dub.

Makes me think what would've happened if someone who grew-up with French based dubs would be in charge of this.
