It's been just about 2 months, almost to the day, between sets for quite some time. It's not really that long considering they have to decide what each set will cover, model and program the appropriate characters into the game, work out the stats and any new mechanics, design the cards in each new set and then manage to get them printed off and ready for placement in the arcade machines.

Yeah: Kid Goku, Kid Kuririn, Muten Roshi, Muten Roshi (Max Power), Pirate Robot, Blue, Murasaki, Tao Pai Pai, Piccolo Daimao (Young) are all in the game (and will be playable by JM2 if they aren't already), plus a DB costume for Yamcha.

The DB movies would at least offer alternate costumes and card art. If you venture into Path to Power, you can have alternate designs too for characters like White or Metallic...though if Raichi and Hatchihyack are any indication, just because they use a newer design doesn't mean the game model will be of that newer design.

Well, not only that, if you venture into the Dragon Ball movies, you can add new characters too. Bongo, Pasta and Gurumes from Legend of Shen Long, Ghastel and Lucifer from Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle and even the Giant Red Ribbon Battle Jacket from Path to Power. It's not just reskins.

That is why I said "at least". I assumed the new characters were obvious, but there just aren't many of them in comparison (and DB movie 1's characters really aren't even fighters in the traditional DB sense). If they want to actually tackle the films, they should do more than just toss in the small handful of baddies (which combined, usually total less than the amount of new characters often introduced in a single DBZ film) to make including them in a set worth it.

They are using a 10 year old game engine, so I don't think it takes that long.

Been seeing (Google translated) discussion about a Heroes gumi pack due out in March that will focus on the Majin Buu Arc, but apparently include Oozaru Bardock as well if the Amazon listing is correct. The Japanese side of the fanbase are already speculating that the DBZ portion of the JM3 set, which will be coming out at the same time, will revisit Buu with the debut of Super Saiyan 3 Vegetto.

Just figured I'd toss that out there.

Before Vegetto comes we MUST get SSJ3 Goten. Its only reasonable. Then again they most likely going by popularity

Totally agreed. I just can't picture a what-if scenario where Trunks transforms, but not Goten. It feels... uncomfortable.

We would probably still have some Super Saiyan 3 characters in the game's future after that, though I don't know how many old characters will get it. The Saiyan Avatars are likely still going to get Super Saiyan 3, but they are new characters. If this set really does give us Super Saiyan 2 Bardock, we may see it added to Bardock's arsenal down the line too...

Well, since they've given Super Saiyan 3 to Trunks: GT after Trunks: Future got it, I see no reason why Gohan: Adolescent and Gohan: GT won't get it, since Gohan: Future got it.

You think we will ever get a SSJ3...Raditz or Nappa? I know they aren't really popular but is it possible?

Having Radditz or Nappa go SSj3 won't make sense since they never went SSj and skipping SSJ1 - SSj2 won't feel right. To finish the SSj3 line up, we need:

SSj3 GT Goten
SSj3 Vegito
SSj3 Buu Saga Gohan
SSj3 GT Gohan
SSj3 Avatars
SSj3 Bardock (ugh)

I think after SSj3, we will start getting SSj4 cards. DBH has been known to milk the shit out of everything, so SSj4 won't be that far off.
