Dragonball GT returns to Cartoon Network in the US!
Dragonball GT returns to Cartoon Network in the US!
In case you are interested, according to the official Cartoon Network schedule and other very reliable sources, starting this Friday/Saturday, GT is returning at 12:30 AM next to Zatch Bell (and the following week, IGPX).
Well...I for one wish they would show Dragon Ball instead. That hasn't been on since early 2004!

I don't think that Dragon Ball will return.Son Goku wrote:Well...I for one wish they would show Dragon Ball instead. That hasn't been on since early 2004!

Uh....
YAY!!!!!
I don't really see the appeal of staying up till 12 am to watch dubbed GT. Maybe theres something wrong with me.
It's nice to see that DB is on TV in one way or another, but I would much rather see Dragon Ball or Android/Cell DBZ... or a repeat showing of the movies (like they did a few years ago). Tain't no way I'm paying money to watch Lord Slug.

You mean 7 years. Running one episode a week would take seven years.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Man, if they would run DB then DBZ then DBGT right after another, they woulndt have to worry about the schedual for that time slot for like two years.
Why not? Z and GT came back, why not the original?DB_Fan wrote:I don't think that Dragon Ball will return.Son Goku wrote:Well...I for one wish they would show Dragon Ball instead. That hasn't been on since early 2004!

Agreed. The only time I was really into GT was when FUNi started releasing them on DVD (and I bought all of those damn discs at retail priceHao_Kaiser wrote:I don't really see the appeal of staying up till 12 am to watch dubbed GT. Maybe theres something wrong with me.

They should do something with the movies, like they used to do when Toonami was on weekdays. Though even if they did, I wouldn't want to stay up that late (or even timer record it for that matter). If they were to put the movies in the 7-8:00 Toonami time slot, then I'd definitely watch it (just for the sake of getting to see some of the crappier "not-worthy-of-buying-on-DVD" movies.
It kinda reminds me of how Yu Yu Hakusho was brought back to CN... at the 5:30 time slot

Actually GT ended in 2005 for America...Son Goku wrote:In case you are interested, according to the official Cartoon Network schedule and other very reliable sources, starting this Friday/Saturday, GT is returning at 12:30 AM next to Zatch Bell (and the following week, IGPX).

He was talking about Dragon Ball, not GT.Zeke wrote:Actually GT ended in 2005 for America...Son Goku wrote:In case you are interested, according to the official Cartoon Network schedule and other very reliable sources, starting this Friday/Saturday, GT is returning at 12:30 AM next to Zatch Bell (and the following week, IGPX).

You know what they're doing don't you? They're trying to make us look bad. They slip GT in at some ridiculous time of night like it's nothing, like they're doing something for the fans, when they know that absolutely no one will be watching. Granted very few of the longterm fans were even into GT but it's not like anybody else distinguishes one dragonball from another!! After a while they'll have their "proof" that kids aren't even interested in it anymore and say "well, I guess that's the end of dragonball on CN!" No no no!! It may have been a long run but they got to respect!! I still like it gosh darn it! I still LIKE it!
I know I shouldn't even care since I barely even watch the dub but I refuse to believe that the American viewers don't care about it anymore! And I'm just bitter as hell about all this attention Naruto is getting.

Seriously. Here, Toonami has an hour block of the new Pokemon eps as well as for Naruto. Now, I kinda rely on the re-run time slot of Naruto just in case I ever miss an episodeMr. Announcer wrote:I know I shouldn't even care since I barely even watch the dub but I refuse to believe that the American viewers don't care about it anymore! But for Pokemon... I mean, c'mon! The Pokemon franchise and the DB franchise started at around the same time here in America, so I find it slightly strange that DB isn't getting as much love. Granted that Pokemon still has new episodes being cranked out, but still... c'mon! I'd really like it if DB (no Z) were put up just because I haven't seen the episodes in so long (except for the King Piccolo Saga I have on DVD). :groan:...

Not gonna watch it. Don't like the dub (no offense to the FUNi actors) of GT. I can't watch it unless I hear Dan Dan or Blue Velvet or any one of the ED songs.
However, if they started airing the original DB again, I would definitely watch those since I haven't seen those eps. in forever, and it's the only good (and accurate) Funimation DB-related dub.

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
There are american viewers who still care about it. So I don't think that's the case. I have the dvds but I'm too lazy to watch them. The tv is less effort and I can just tune in. I haven't watched GT in a while so this is an opportunity for me while its on tv. As for Naruto, I don't care that it has all the attention. People might get sick of it at some point. They just need something new to make something big out of. It will be overplayed if I had to guess.Mr. Announcer wrote:I know I shouldn't even care since I barely even watch the dub but I refuse to believe that the American viewers don't care about it anymore! I'd have to agree with the majority here, why put GT back on when it was just taken off less then six months ago, if I remember correctly, whereas, Dragonball hasn't been on since 2004? Granted I have the DVD's, but I'm in the same boat as Vhanos, where I'd rather tune in to watch instead of having to dig out my DVD's.
I don't know if it is me or what, but it seems that I get more enjoyment out of watching episodes on regular television then I do my DVD's. One theory I've come up with is that it is because I know I'm not the only one getting enjoyment out of what is on.

Thats right. Plus, if it is on only once a week it feels more special.Namek'jin Ryu wrote:I'd have to agree with the majority here, why put GT back on when it was just taken off less then six months ago, if I remember correctly, whereas, Dragonball hasn't been on since 2004? I agree wholeheartedly with you. I think it's because when it's aired on TV, you get the feeling that it's still "accepted" by our... world?Namek'jin Ryu wrote:I don't know if it is me or what, but it seems that I get more enjoyment out of watching episodes on regular television then I do my DVD's. It's just that having a good TV timeslot gives the message that CN (or whatever network) is willing to give some time on their channel to a show in order to snag more fans for the show. Discovering a show and just getting them on DVD just seems like it's affecting you and only you. For example, it's like having someone from out of the country buying the DVD sets of Friends because they don't have it on TV; it's just not the same

Well, if YYH was still edited regardless that it was in the 5:30 timeslot, I'll bet that GT will be edited, toogotenx wrote:DBGT at 12:30 AM means that it will be uncut (hopefully).
