DB 10th Anniversy OST
I finally got my hands on the OST of the DB 10th Anniversary.
And there are some tracks that I recognise from Dragon Ball GT. I have seen DBGT only once so I'm not that familiar with the BGM of the show but some tracks sound familiar:
Oolong's Theme ~ Transformation into a Giant Robot
The Formidable Foe, Yamcha
And track 44 The Grand Finale~Mysterious Power sounds a bit like the Dragon Theme of DBGT. But are there more tracks of that CD that appear in DBGT?

Oh, definitely. There's the two chorus pieces at the end, and I also enjoy the piece when Black kills Red... there's a fantastic amount of buildup in the music (it begins low-key and threatening, and remains that way for the majority of the song), and it comes out in the end with that big boom that I've always admired in Shunsuke Kikuchi's work, and it's great to hear this concept being used by the composer for GT (can never remember his name!).SSJ_Vejita wrote:I think The Grand Finale~Mysterious Power was beautiful! It proves that the series could have used some more vocals in the music because it sounds great!
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

Akito Tokunaga
And yes, he did a great job in capturing the spirit of Dragon Ball! When a series gets a new composer I'm always worried that the music is bad and is nothing compared to the original composer but with Tokunaga-san you're not thinking that at all! It proves that he was the right choice to compose instead of Kikuchi.
By the way, the music from the 10th Anniversary/DBGT sounds more orchestral than DBZ or is that just me?

That's because Tokunaga (thanks) emphasizes the string section much more than Kikuchi did. The music from DB/Z put emphasis on the horns and trumpets (with some drums and guitar thrown in).SSJ_Vegita wrote:By the way, the music from the 10th Anniversary/DBGT sounds more orchestral than DBZ or is that just me?
