or they shouldn't make the other gods appear but make a statement for some unknown reason Frieza managed to absorb all their godly ki and now he is back for vengeance
not to far of since Akira seems to hype him up after so long
Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
I've started to feel as though Akira Toriyama actually dislikes Freeza, and that's why he puts attention on how he was beaten, or even gets talked down about (see the 08 SJ special). Now we just need a high definition reanimation of Trunks murdering him.Friezacooler wrote:or they shouldn't make the other gods appear but make a statement for some unknown reason Freeza managed to absorb all their godly ki and now he is back for vengeancenot to far of since Akira seems to hype him up after so long

Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
Yeah, Freeza gets treated like complete crap after Goku turns SS. He gets the shit kicked out of him, is reduced to pathetically begging his enemy for a shred of energy, comes back stronger only to get one-shotted by a new character straight out of a fanfic, is treated as a joke for the rest of the saga, is talked down about by the local wuss Kaioshin, who says that he was never the strongest and there were at least half a dozen people capable of killing him one blow, is said to be "in hindsight, not much of a foe" by Goku in the 08 special and is treated as a joke by the kids, his defeat is remade and mentioned repeatedly in BOG, and BOG reveals that he never had any hope at victory even if he gained immortality, because Beers was going to kill him anyway.

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

both of you deliberately ignoring to mention the fact freeza also got hyped up, regarding base saiyan's to being inferior to frieza even after buu saga. nuff said.
Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
That's not very considerable hype when every Saiyan in the Boo arc can turn Super Saiyan.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
So a bulked out Freeza is stronger than the saiyans when they're using less than one percent of their power... what's the big deal...?Friezacooler wrote:both of you deliberately ignoring to mention the fact freeza also got hyped up, regarding base saiyan's to being inferior to Freeza even after buu saga. nuff said.
Ignoring power levels, Freeza is just shat on from a story perspective. He was never the strongest in the universe, he wasn't even the strongest of his family if you factor in the EU, he was never able to beat a Super Saiyan, and he was never going to succeed in his goals, no matter what.

Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
How is that hype? A base Saiyan's power level has been irrelevant since the moment Goku transformed. That whole line was in the movie just to establish Super Saiyan in the film.Friezacooler wrote:both of you deliberately ignoring to mention the fact freeza also got hyped up, regarding base saiyan's to being inferior to Freeza even after buu saga. nuff said.

it just means that the certain times the saiyan's were fighting android saga characters or buu saga characters in their base frieza would have atleast handled it better than the base saiyan's.

Re: Other Possible Gods of Destruction
That happens like twice in the Buu Saga dude. And nowhere else. I don't think it's that impressive that Freeza can beat Pui Pui and Yakon. Unless you count those two surprise hits in the android saga as "fighting". In which case, I don't think it's impressive that Freeza can take Android 19 and Android 20 either. And I never doubted that Freeza was stronger than all of these characters before the movie came out, except Yakon.Friezacooler wrote:it just means that the certain times the saiyan's were fighting android saga characters or buu saga characters in their base Freeza would have atleast handled it better than the base saiyan's.

What about Spopovich? He was surely a powerful opponent that we now know Freeza would have been greatly helpful against. God help us if somebody ever wishes Yamu back.RandomGuy96 wrote:That happens like twice in the Buu Saga dude. And nowhere else. Spopovich >>> super saiyans as he owned one.

They held down a Super Saiyan 2 with total ease. It anything these guys might have been in a league all on their own.Friezacooler wrote:Spopovich >>> super saiyans as he owned one.

Videl did better against Spopivich than Gohan did; clearly Videl is stronger.Duo wrote:They held down a Super Saiyan 2 with total ease. It anything these guys might have been in a league all on their own.Friezacooler wrote:Spopovich >>> super saiyans as he owned one.

Heck, she even holds the power of Super Saiyan God inside of her. Before she joined the group to channel Ki into Goku, they couldn't achieve it. Videl's sole addition is what made Goku into a God. She's basically the Virgin Mary of Dragon Ball as well as kicking ass.

Chi-Chi: How dare you walk in here and act like that!? You show some respect! Do you hear me?
Baby: (to himself) What an overwhelming personality. She may be physically weaker than the others, but in Goten's mind, she is more important than anything. Perhaps her powers are hidden deep inside her.
Chi-Chi: Are you listening!? You answer me when I'm talking to you!?
Baby: (to himself) Perhaps it is best for me to abide by the constance of this planet until I find Vegeta.
looks like someone needs give grand elder Guru or elder kai a visit

On the whole "let's copy the egyptian gods" shtick, I wonder if the most powerful is going to be an androgynous emperor of a thousand galaxies who is voiced by Jaye Davidson.
