Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
My first Dragon Ball DVD was the Funimation Dragon Box 1, as a gift from my wonderful girlfriend, who ended up buying all of them for me as gifts as they were coming out.

Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
My first Dragon Ball DVD was the edited version of The Path to Power. I got it back in 2003 at a Target store. Followed by the Arrival and Showdown from the edited Saiyan saga from Suncoast the same year. It's funny because I had no DVD player at the time and it was hard to find the VHS versions for these in stores. I sort of thought ahead, I'll collect some now that way if I ever got a DVD player I would have some cool stuff to watch. I even sealed them up in a Ziploc bag to protect them, I still have it too! My dad noticed that I was collecting DVDs and it was his idea to take a trip to Circuit City and get me my first DVD player. The rest is history.

Same here, though I did order the 4th box with it (and the second one, but it turned out that Amazon actually didn't have any of them left in stock, so I got that one later from a member here).ricecake wrote:My first Dragon Ball DVD was the Funimation Dragon Box 1

ah those lovely UK releases.

First DB DVD I ever owned was Orange Brick season 1. Not great but we don't have any domestic alternative.

This ol' bad boy.

DBZ ended after the Frieza Saga.Goku wrote:You haven't figured it out yet? I'm the Saiyan who came all the way from Earth for the sole purpose of beating you. I am the warrior you've heard of in legends, pure of heart and awakened by fury. That's what I am. I AM THE SUPER SAIYAN, SON GOKU!

Fun times... at the time, I really wanted to see the Super Saiyan transformation in Japanese, after seeing the "meh" dubbed version on Toonami.

The Ocean dub of DBZ Movie 1, I was still collecting the series on VHS due to the cost, but I got this as a gift from my grandma who found it in a $5 bin. I still have it, but I'm missing the other uncut Ocean movie releases. This was actually my second DVD in my whole collection with the first being the first uncut Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters disc. Wish that had got more than 9 episodes out...
Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
We never had a proper Dragonball DVD release in the UK back in the day outside of the Big Green movies. My first home release was the Big Green dub of movie 4 on VHS. My first DVD of Dragonball was Funi's old release of Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan back when I imported it in 2006.

VHS: Dragon Ball Saga of Goku Vol.1 (Ocean Group)
DVD: Captain Ginyu Assault (Wasn't this the time when Funimation released the VHS first then the DVDs?) I never saw the DVD on shelves until 2000.

Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
The first Dragon Ball VHS I own was the first vol. 1 of Dragon Ball of the Funi dub of the Ocean voice cast. I can't find the boxart for it, but I believe it came out sometime during 1997 or 1998.

Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
I'm pretty sure it was Dragon ball Z movies 1-3 but I don't think they were legit. My first 100% legit one was the edited version of Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy. Got it for my birthday in 2005.
Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?
I think it was Ginuy: Assault. Or a french DBGT dvd I bought. Not sure which one came first.
Re: What was your first Dragon Ball DVD?

Same day it premiered in New Zealand at Armageddon (pop culture expo) in Wellington. Theatrical screening then the DVD was for sale outside.
Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabat were there for the first time too.. got an autographed poster but it's long gone now.
