Super DBZ: The Game Mechanics

Post by Steven Perry » Thu Jul 13, 2006 11:09 am

Hey guys! I'm eager to get my dirty little mitts on Super DBZ, but first... I'd like to ask the owners of this game what the mechanics are like (as in how it plays).

-From watching numerous videos at the official website and IGN, there doesn't seem to be guard breaks. If there aren't, the fun has been taken away BIG TIME. I love slipping some extra combos at an opponent when they're in this vulnerable position (it allows some freedom and creativity).

-I'd also like to know how teleportation works, and if it's similar to Budokai 3.

-Are there beams struggles? I haven't seen an instance in the videos where two beams collide. :P

-Does the movement feel unnatural and robotic-like to you?

-And finally, would you say it's better than Budokai 3 (testing out the poll :P )?

EDIT: I'm not allowed more than 2 poll options, apparently. :?

I don't think beam struggles would fit the "hardcore fighting game" theme of this game, because they are always resolved by button mashing. Just my opinion, though.

You can't compaire budokai 3 and super in just a few days. Let's talk abouth that in a month and see if we still like this game.

There are no beamstruggles and yes, the game doesn't feels robotic.

Teleportation isn't like budokai 3. But it is cool how it is done. Like goku, you can charge your kamehameha and then teleport in front of the opponent. Really cool and helpfull.

I can tell much more, but i don't have the time at the moment.
