While not entirely true, this one isn't exactly incorrect either. We are told that Birus can be lazy and will let others destroy things for him in his place. So while there probably wasn't an actual agreement between them (they may have never even met in the first place), Birus was letting Freeza do his job for him when he destroyed Vegeta.

Context: Some guy on youtube says that Dragon Ball GT was directly written by Toriyama. I tell him he's wrong and he goes off on a rant and starts talking about Naruto.

"lemme guess you got that off wikia,-_- i have the dvd and it doesnt say that at all. he wrote gt is a fact,I'm tired of people trying to say he didnt, what's the point of stealing gloary from him? he's a good man you should be ashamed kid."

"kanzentai/kanzenshuu are almost always wrong, i have the dragon box gt set as well as near every dragon box in egnlish+jap. He never says that anywhere, its a lie forged by weaboo gt haters who want to alienate fans from gt because "it had no manga and thus is evil" i hate those fucking otaku weaboos, they ruin the anime industry and fanbase."

"he did write gt he said so in the gt perfect files n the credits back me up,your sources are fake shit on a fan site (here). i got facts your jsu in denile,i got facts he wrote gt GET OVER IT YOU TROLL!"

"Why do you want to discredit akria? he worked hard writing gt,you fucking disgust m,i bet your a narutard bent on ruining akira's name cause you wanan suck kishimotto's dick:P btw kishimotto respects toriyama, most of naruto is a copy of db/z/gt so gtfo with your hate kid!"

"sasuke has black spiky hair, does evil things for more power, had a tough childhood where somebody killed his clan/family and his goal at first was to kill that person like how vegeta lost his family to frieza n wanted him dead, got stronger tillhe attack. goku n naruto have bitchy girls and huge appatites and giant animals inside of them, pervy masters who teach basicallyy the same techique ect ect. its a steal of dbz, kishimotto even admited it,now you know how it feels 2 get ur show mocked?"

The depths of the stupidity of the youtube fanbase astounds me.

Check this out.

Forgive me but I wailed on this guy.

I am so sick and tired of GT haters who go to such lengths as to say GT never existed, was never made, or even say Toriyama himself says he hates it.

He wasn't a DB fan, but I met a 37-year-old who considers Bleach and the first season of My Little Pony to be the pinnacle of deep, complex, and meaningful literature/art.

According to him, DBZ is strictly for children, while it takes an incredibly sophisticated and enlightened adult mind to fully comprehend Bleach and the first MLP season.

And, unfortunately, he's dead serious.

DBZ is made for kids since it's a Shonen and the main target audience for DBZ is 3 - 11. We all became DBZ fans when we were kids and there's nothing wrong with adults enjoying stuff that's intended for children. Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, MLP and Soul Eater are market for kids as well. I wish people would get over that most of the stuff that they like are made for kids. As long if it's good then it does not matter if it's for kids. Disney and Dreamworks makes movies for kids, but a lot of them are good that even adults can enjoy them.

Death Note is also a shonen. Is it for kids ages 3-11...?

Shonen just means its mainly intended for young males, there's no strict age rules. That means that its main target is males that aren't adults, even though they can obviously still be enjoyed by adults all the same, and women.

Due to the changes made on YouTube the past months, I am unable to access my old inbox for a screenshot, in which there was a message from a guy who was convinced all fans of the Japanese version were in denial, that there is no possible way it could sound good to anyone and that it was okay to confide with him over PM on how bad I really think it sounds. Goes to show how narrow-minded the fanbase can be.

From what I've been told that Death Note is market for older kids around 5 - 13. Each Shonen series has a different target audience going from what I've been told.

No, Death Note was serialized in the very same magazine (named Weekly Shōnen Jump) that had Dragon Ball and that currently has One Piece, Naruto, Toriko, Beelzebub and many others. Its entire run of chapters was printed in that magazine alongside the chapters of many other shonen series that were serialized at the time. That magazine even has a habit of having questionnaires asking the readers which series had the best chapter that week. There's no real difference in intended demographics, its all simply shonen. And those series are only released in individual volumes after being released in the magazine.

By the way, even if you must give strict intended age limits to the manga series, who the hell would say Death Note is for 5 year old kids? How do they even define that? Do they think "well, 4 year old have trouble reading correctly so Death Note is not for them, but 5 year olds manage to read a little better so clearly they can enjoy Death Note, so lets start intended ages at that point"?. And why do they even stop at 13? Most people I see enjoying Death Note are teenagers older than 13... Even Viz rates it for older teens, while it has an all ages rating for Dragon Ball...

Anyway, those age limits don't make any sense at all, not even the magazine where these series come out cares about that, they just brand it shonen, young males, and that's that...

But if you really care about having some sort of age limits, then you should know that there are manga magazines that specialize in manga intended for younger readers than the readers of Shonen Manga and Shonen magazines, like CoroCoro Comic that has series like Doraemon and Pokemon. So, if shonen manga like DB and Death Note has age limits of 4 to 13 or something like that, what kind of age limits would you give for these series? 1-6?

He can't be serious. There is no way. That guy is not real. If someone actually thinks that, they are missing out on many great things and they're just objectively an idiot. Wow, holy shit. This is unreal.

I mean, you're pretty open about looking at cartoon porn. Why would you do that? It's fiction. The proportions of these women are not possible to reach in reality.

Sadly, he's very serious. I met him a few months ago. He flaunts the fact that he has MLP toys, tries his hardest to make Bleach and MLP seem deeper than they actually are, goes around with this sort of "you will never reach my levels of enlightenment" attitude(if anyone here thinks I'm guilty of that, trust me, he's got it much worse than I do), and calls DBZ out for things that Bleach is just as guilty of.

It's more "each magazine has a slightly different target audience primarily based around what their reader polls tell them about the age of their readers", but "Shonen" in general aims itself at the "boys in grade school" demographic. Series like Death Note are very much for kids, and I'm pretty sure Tsugumi Ohba said he aimed the series at that demographic specifically so he didn't have to get overly philosophical about the underlying themes the way an older audience would've expected of him.

For gods sake its "bills". You don't need to spell it in the Japanese pronunciation! Its not that hard to understand Japanese romanization people.
:P Taken from a comment on Saiyan Island.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
