Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
I run a gaming forum, and with this next gen stuff, I'm bound to buy a new system at some point, but I'm wondering if you think "Battle of Z" on it's own is a good reason to buy a Vita?
I'd buy Killzone, Tearaway and Minecraft down the line, but the first game I'd buy is DBZ: BOZ.
So yeah... Do you guys think buying a Vita, just with BOZ for about two-three months would be worth it?

If you played Battle of Z on 360/PS3 how long did you last before you decided to quit the demo?
Quality replayability and gameplay is what it's all about, and BoZ lacks of both.

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
Yes, there is a demo for the game on all three systems.
There's never been a DBZ game that was a system-seller for me, and I don't see Battle of Z being one, either. That being said, a Vita + Battle of Z + PlayStation Plus subscription is easily worth the money (more for/with the Plus than the DBZ

Depends on whether you have/plan to get a PS4. There's some decent titles for Vita but nothing that's really a system seller and Battle of Z certainly isn't one. However, if you do plan on getting a PS4 then a Vita may not be a bad investment for the sake of remote play.

I'd have to pretty much agree with this, but I'd also add that if you're into JRPGs, Persona 4 Golden is a good way to "justify" your Vita purchase. Its crazy long runtime alone will keep you busy for quite a long time. It's also really, really good, albeit with a few pacing problems in the story later on due to all the new content. From what I played of Battle of Z on PS3, it seems like the sort of game that's a refreshing change of pace for DBZ games as a whole, but nowhere near good enough for a $240 purchase.VegettoEX wrote:Yes, there is a demo for the game on all three systems.

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
You should never buy a platform for a single game. That said, you've already shown an interest in a few other Vita titles, so if there's enough of a list there's no reason to say no. It's a beautiful machine with quality original games like Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice, and Tearaway with some cool stuff on the way. I'd say the worst part about Vita is the price of a decently sized Memory Card.

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
I don't know if i'd buy one just for Battle of Z, but I second the person who suggested Persona 4 Golden. I myself aren't a huge fan of RPG games, but that game blew me away. So many emotions, and man, what a story! There's also a Very Easy mode if you just want to play for the story; you never really lose on Very Easy because if you lose a battle or a boss fight, you're pretty much revived to full health. I played it on normal though and it wasn't too hard.
There's also the upcoming Danganrompa: Trigger Happy Havoc, which seems to be a mix of the Ace Attorney series and the Zero Escape series. Speaking of Zero Escape, that's another game you should pick up for the VITA. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward, what a game!
Other VITA games I recommend:
- Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remastered
- Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars
- Freedom Wars (TBA for localization)
- God Eater 2 (TBA for localization)
Anyways, it seems like 2014 is going to be a good year for the PS VITA.
- I haven't played Tearaway yet, can anyone confirm if it's a good title? I keep hearing good things about it.

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
Tearaway is a beautiful little adventure. There's not a whole lot of challenge to the game, but my goodness if you aren't smiling, and laughing along the way. It was a journey I didn't want to end, which is a shame, since the only fault I have with the game is that it's a bit short. I suppose it's better to leave the audience wanting more than overstaying your welcome, but still. The game's been $20 recently, and if you pay $20-$30 I'm sure you won't regret it.
But Dragon Ball:

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
I do have an interest in the Vita. Maybe I didn't word it right.
I was already sold on the Vita as soon as I heard Minecraft was coming for it.
Minecraft.
Killzone.
Tearaway.
(Perhaps) Persona.
The Eventual God of War.
Those are games I'd buy. I'm wondering if it'd be worth buying Battle of Z as my first Vita game, or something like Killzone instead?

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
Have to echo that. DBZ games have been game pillars of purchases for me (Shin Budokai 2 for PSP, Tenkaichi 2 for Wii- I doubt you'll find a more staunch Wiimote lover on that one!), but sadly the annual model kind of keeps them from having enough to them to be sellers. The idea isn't solid in general, particularly, much as I don't want to say this about any console, for something as uncertain as the Vita. Ignoring, of course, that one more buyer will give that much more incremental confidence to developers.VegettoEX wrote:There's never been a DBZ game that was a system-seller for me, and I don't see Battle of Z being one, either.

Re: Vita just for "Battle of Z"?
If you don't already have one I'd suggest you first buy a PlayStation Plus subscription. Very few games are going to be able to keep a person's attention for two to three months straight. The Instant Game Collection is kind of a godsend to new users as it enables you to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Gravity Rush, WipEout 2048, and a monthly selection of rotating content for as long as you're a subscriber at no additional cost. It also allows you get even deeper discounts on most PlayStation Store sales, like the currently ongoing 14 for 14 sale. Content you purchase with a discount is yours forever. If you do eventually pick up a PS4 you're going to need PlayStation Plus for multiplayer anyways, so you might as well accumulate a bunch of games for it. To grab those games just go to the webstore and purchase them.MysticVegeta wrote:I do have an interest in the Vita. Maybe I didn't word it right.

And to add to all this madness, Battle of Z is getting a radical discount on the PSN Store when it comes out on the Vita. On sale only for $31.99 day 1! That price sounds about right for this game, i might get it for Vita after all

Don't even waste money for this game like I did.
Wait and buy it when it gets cheap. You're missing nothing.
