How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes?

I bought Funi's Z Dragon Boxes, but I never bothered with Kai because it was an incomplete product. I will probably rethink that choice once the Buu Arc is released though.

I have. I own all of the American Dragon Boxes and they're beautiful. I also own all of Kai on DVD.

Even though Kai is incomplete, it doesn't end on a cliffhanger or in the middle of an arc like the Ocean dub did. Plus it's a great product.

I really wish I had picked up the Yamamoto versions. He makes it to the end of the Freeza arc, right? At least then, I could've had two complete arcs without the replacement score, even if in the grand scheme of Kai it's incomplete.

I own Dragon-Boxes 1,3,5,6 & 7 and part 1 & 2 of Kai on Blu-ray and 3 & 4 on DVD and the rest I have downloaded because it has Yamamoto score.

Nice guys I have Dragon box 3,5 and 7 and for kai I have season 1, parts 3,4 and season 3. I plan on getting season 4 on blu ray sometime this week.

I've got FUNiBoxes 01-07, along with the Japanese Special Selection DVD for the TV Specials. I also own the DVD versions of "parts" 01-04 of Kai (for the Yamamoto score) and the blu-ray versions of "seasons" 01-04 (for the whole series with Kikuchi).

I'm curious, why do you ask? Are you merely surveying to see how many people think that both Z and Kai are worth owning as separate shows, or is there another reason?

Yes, I have all seven FUNimation Dragon Boxes.

For Kai, I have the JP Blu-ray Vol. 1 and the JP DVD Vol. 33 (first and final volumes, respectively... at least until the Buu arc). On the FUNimation side, I purchased the first four "Part" two-disc Blu-ray releases to at least have the domestically-released Yamamoto!Kai. No real interest in having anything beyond that until the Buu arc, which I'll probably purchase. I guess I could fill in with "Seasons" three and four at some point, but I have zero real inclination to do so...

Also curious on the reason. I mean, I don't really fit in with most people when it comes to what they purchase when it comes to the series, because I'm a certified idiot.

I do. Now that I think about it, my collection is actually quite inconsistent I have the remastered season sets of Dragon Ball, DBZ Dragon Boxes, and as for GT, the singles are on their way to me (only "The Lost Episodes" box has arrived)

For Kai, I have the DVD "season" sets. And knowing myself, I'll probably won't have enough patience to wait for the season sets for the Buu arc, so I'll just grab the part sets (if FUNi will release it that way, of course).

Well, if nothing else, you may be the world's number one collector of "Season One." How many copies are you at now? 9?

On-Topic, I have none of the Dragon Boxes, but I do have all of the "Parts" of Kai.

I own all seven FUNi Dragon Boxes as well as Kai. When I watch in Japanese I prefer to watch original Z. I watch Kai for a great English dub.

By some miracle of the universe I managed to collect all 7 of FUNimation's Dragon Boxes as they were released, and don't plan on ever letting go of them. I only own the first half/third/whatever of Kai so far (Raditz through Freeza) from FUNi, but I hope to collect the Trunks through Androids arc soon.

I'm also proud to own FUNimation's fantastic "Level" DBZ Blu-ray release in its entirety.

For Kai, I have parts 1-4 in order to have the Yamamoto score on blu-ray, and then I finished it with seasons 3 & 4.

Buying the Dragonboxes was more for archival purposes than for rewatching the show. Though right now I am actually watching through the Boo saga and having fun playing editor in my head as far as how/what the Kai version will cut or keep. Also, if I want to hear the Japanese voice actors, Z is the place to go, just like the English version with Kai. Both stand as their definitive performances compared to English Z or Japanese Kai. But Kai wins out for me given the fact the pacing really makes Z a chore to watch in comparsion(scenes always being interrupted), and I can enjoy whatever music options I want thanks to my project. Otherwise, I'd probably suck it up and stick with Z Japanese for the Cell Saga if I had to choose between that and Parts 5-8.

I have the seven American Dragon Boxes, Kai seasons 1-4 (Kikuchi) and parts 1-4 (Yamamoto). I also have the Japanese Dbox Z 1. Both series are worth having, but if Kai parts 5-8 had Yamamoto I'd have those and not bother with the seasons.

I'm also collecting the DBZ Blu-Ray Season Sets for gods know why...
