Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This is going to be a double special chapter, according to the news post.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Oh, alright. I wonder why this one needs to be so long; it doesn't seem like much has happened yet.

Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

The same reason why specials exist... Because otherwise, there wouldn't be enough pages of the main chapters to keep the normal schedule.

I actually like this special. Despite the length it's actually pretty well paced and covers an alternate course of events that's more involved than the villain simply winning a fight.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Working together, I think it's conceivable Gohan and Krillin could kill a transformed Zarbon. Vegeta getting his ass kicked could be attributed to his hubris as much as any power difference. But that being said, Nail is probably going to show up and make it moot. But the Ginyu Force is going to be the end of our heroes, for sure. They'll probably beat Guldo, though. I don't remember him being in the group at the tournament.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
~1,770 and 14,000 vs ~30,000. Yeah, no freaking way they'd have a chance, not in a series where a mere x1.5 difference renders all teamwork meaningless. How are Krillin's blasts even hurting Zarbon here?

He probably isn't hurt but they hit him in the face so he is probably quite upset.

Right, I forgot Krillin didn't get his power up. Well that's just silly that they'd run into a fight without it.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
But it wouldn't make a difference even if he had it. Neither of them would possess even half of Zarbon's strength. He'd still beat them both in one hit.TonyTheTiger wrote:Right, I forgot Krillin didn't get his power up. Well that's just silly that they'd run into a fight without it.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well theres still the Kienzan. Would be great to throw right with that distraction scatter shot. Or since Zarbon is probably going to give him the Imagonnakillya angry look he could use Taiyoken and then Kienzan.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I do find it weird that the same Kuririn who couldn't phase Nappa with that attack is making Zarbon at least flinch. Oh well, he's dead anyway most likely.

Krillin and Gohan trained for several months on the way to Namek.
I play baseball and work in LA.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
This attack looks a bit different from what he used against Nappa.
The one against Nappa was huge and slow. You could see it coming a mile away.
This one looks like it split up at the very last second. Almost a Gotenks style attack.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Hm, while it is nice that they're actually having the characters use their heads, the attack looks a bit underwhelming. Maybe having Zarbon surrounded by smoke would have had it look a tad more effective.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The attack on Nappa and Vegeta was only a fraction of the total attack. The rest of the attack went after the Saibamen. Zarbon in here is hit by the total power of the attack by surprise (including in the face).

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
What does Gohan think he's doing? "WAARGH CHAREG HEADFIRST" didn't work last time, what makes him think it's going to work this time?

You say that like it isn't what he always does in the show.
