Kai has pretty much the same voice cast, but with a few new actors. I hate the hate that Kai gets because some fans refuse to take off their nostalgia glasses. It reminds me how Transformers and Pokemon fans are with G1.

At this point is more along the lines of Nostalgia Full Body Armor.

I don't want these guys to ever direct a real DBZ movie. James Wong is a terrible director, at least the first Final Destination movie that he directed was decent and better then any of these guys can make. DBE was crap, but the stuff they made is hardly any better. At first I did defend the first trailer they made but looking back on it, it was awful. They ever did a real movie then it would be the AVPR of the DBZ franchise. In other words, it would have acting and effects worst then DBE.

The Saiyan trailer was good, not amazing but good nonetheless.
I agree, The dub wasnt that good, the CGI was good for being fan made, much more than i was expecting, I loved the part with the hair strands turning yellow and i dont mind the dialogue..

this was easily like 7/10 on the Dragon Ball Fan Made stuff scale..

But i agree with one thing, these guys shouldnt make a real movie, it would be horrible

I do like how they try to make it intense. I'm really interested how they make Krillin blow up and all that junk... Y'all have to be curious how that'll look lol.

Well, looks like they might be making a six-part live action Freeza saga web series, and are in talks with YouTube and Fox. What's the complete opposite of excited again?

Oh cool, nice to see Fox are funding more terrible live action Dragon Ball that totally butchers the tone of the series.

Woo let's perpetuate more false notions about the series!

Keep it up guys.

I somehow doubt that Fox would actually sign off on this. If anything, wouldn't they be among the people trying to shut it down?

Although...hey, if it gives Fox the feelgoods to mess with this and they end up letting Battle of Gods slip by so FUNi can get it already, hey, I'm all for this abomination. I'll just ignore it and buy my BoG DVD. :P

Aw, they should have done the Saiyan arc if they were doing a web series. I know they'd already done the trailer, but it'd work better with the Saiyan arc.

This really does look awful :? . Also using the hope of the universe speech just adds to the mediocrity of this trailer
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

It's just sad how ignorant the people behind this project are when it comes to the Dragon Ball franchise. They originally started their live action project saying that they wanted to create something more true to Dbz than Dragon Ball Evolution. What did they end up giving us? A crappy live action version based on Funimation's crappy dub.

Well, it seems I'm actually in the minority here when it comes to this, but I just can't feel any antipathy towards this. This may sound odd coming from me, but I don't mind that they used the dub speech. If they want to make a fan project that reflects the version of the series they love, that's their business, and I'm not going to hold that against the final product. That speech and that tone and that style do not reflect MY Dragon Ball (or the REAL Dragon Ball), but if that's what they want their interpretation to be modeled after, so be it. More power to them.

As for the actual product: eh. The line delivery wasn't great, and it's not Goku, but it wasn't terrible on its own. The effects aren't professional-level, but they're certainly better than anything I could crank out, and the hair idea was pretty nifty. The overall package is not terribly appealing to me, and neither was the Saiyan Saga trailer, but I'm impressed with their effort and a lot of their output. Overall I'm apathetic, but I see no reason to be appalled either.

I'm just indifferent. They can do whatever they want and if there are fans that are happy about it, so be it. I don't care about the project (trailer or potential web series) though and I have no intention of following it as it continues or watching it once completed.

The first one was so incredibly bad I felt embarrassed for them, like when an actor does a really awkward scene and you empathetically cringe such as Tobey MaGuire in Spider Man 3 doing that dumb dancing stuff in the street and in the bar.

But wow, just wow this new trailer is doing the unimaginable and being easily 50x more embarassing. The part that made me cringe the most was the amount of hate I know members of this forum will have for the dub lines let alone the spelling of Fr(i)eza

How do they get money is what perplexes me the most... :wtf:
"You might think you know everything there is to know about me, but really, you're not even CLOSE."

"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." ~ Sir Winston Chruchill / Dragon Ball Z in a nutshell

no no no please no dear merciful beerus no no please no

This is going to seem overly harsh of me, but it's 100% honest.

This group has bad acting, visual effects that are mediocre so far at best, and the work they do is based on the steaming pile of dung that is the old FUNimation DBZ dub instead of being "more true to Dragon Ball" like they claim their work is. They used dub-Goku's awful "hope of the universe" speech in their last trailer, for crying out loud, and publicly defended it when criticized for it with "well that's what we grew up with and like." The fact that so many "average" fans seem to like their work is just a sad testament to the butchered impression of DBZ that old sh*tstain of a dub has left in North America.

So... no. No, no, no. The only reason I'm not 100% sure Fox will shoot them down is because Fox seems to care about being "true" to Dragon Ball even less than these people do. I'm not sure which entity is LESS worthy to do anything with the property.

I like how criticism for this bad project went to bashing the dub as usual.

Going with Gaffertape, they can do what they want, we can ignore if we don't like it, and if Fox actually does do anything with it it will meet nearly the same reception as Evolution- general condemnation for which, as we all know, covers every niche of the Dragon Ball fandom, including whatever dub fans anyone wants to throw under the bus for giving KK an audience. I do think the transformation and the Namek set looks pretty nice for what they've got, do want to see more of that.

On the plus side, we might get an animated equivalent trailer that's actually pretty good (Albeit stretched 4:3 Kai, funny that) to choreograph the live action version, as we did with the Saiyain saga. Then we can't say nothing good came out of this.

The wildcard is going to be LittleKuriboh's Freeza, if he's still in the voice line-up; we've already seen him give a Chris-Ayres approved parody performance, time to see if the man can act through the garbage and save the trainwreck.
