I guess what it boils down to is you didn't get what you wanted, therefore it sucks. I'm... sorry?

I kinda want a T2 score version..I think RB2's OST wasn't so good overall.dbboxkaifan wrote:That reminds me, I might re-buy RB2 just for Tenkaichi 2's score as it was never released on CD. Any copy will do it's not like I'll be hunting down for a Yamamoto copy.
Speaking of OST..I hate how since UT there hasn't been an original score.

Thats the price I bought this game at; $30. Makes a fun Vita game.dbboxkaifan wrote:This game should have been priced at $29.99 which is what Ride to Hell: Retribution 1% cost at launch, so at least if the game was completely horrible they wouldn't have felt too bad about spending so much on it (although $30 is still good amount of money).thatdbzguy wrote:If the game is trying to be a shallow, overpriced turd, then yeah, it definitely succeeds.

Not sure if anyone noticed (or cared), but Sabat's the voice of Jeice and Burter again. Also, they didn't bother dubbing half of Super Saiyan Bardock's special.

I gotta admit, I was really sceptical about this game over the past few months but honestly, it's been a long time since I've had this much fun playing a Dragonball game.
I'm not really interested in the Battle mode right now though. I much prefer the coop play against a CPU, I really like the teamwork aspect of each battle. I've been playing a lot as a support for people (Being the white mage) and its exciting trying to get them ultimate attacks off, distracting the enemy or healing the Ultimate user while it's charging. It's like the actual Kid Buu fight.
Sure the gameplay is kinda repetitive. But then again I'm a Dynasty Warriors fan, it's right up my alley.

I'm right there with you. I just played some co-op missions and they were a ton of fun. The harder the better! The sooner people understand the game isn't about comboing by yourself, the sooner they'll actually have fun.Sshadow5001 wrote:I gotta admit, I was really sceptical about this game over the past few months but honestly, it's been a long time since I've had this much fun playing a Dragonball game.

I do love Vegetto's little cutscene. Epic. Though I'm not yet settled on Beerus voice actor...Though Whis is fine.
Vegetto as DLC is still extreme bullshit.

I just got to that fight, and I noticed that too, and honestly it's fine with me. I always preferred Sabat's Jheese over Jason Liebrecht's anyways. Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
I played through the entirety of the main story missions and I haven't had that much fun with a Dragon Ball game in years. Seriously, I can only suspect people that don't like this don't have friends to play it with.
All of the negativity in here is toxic and makes me sad. I hope this game sells incredibly well and gets a sequel, because conceptually and at its core, it is incredibly fun and rewarding to play with a group, especially four players (I'd argue it requires four players), but there are a lot of blemishes in the presentation that can undermine it for people. The UI can be confusing, very little information is given to the player, and it entirely relies on you wanting to spend time to get to know how it works. Once you delve into its intricacies you'll see that it works incredibly well, and in upper-tier fights it's nothing like the demo experience. I was worried the game would be too easy, honestly, but if people are playing all melee/ki blast types, you just completely lose (which was my hope). Someone on support is mandatory, and furthers my thesis that this is trying to emulate an MMO raid experience and fall with the fans of Monster Hunter / Soul Sacrifice. The boosted Vita sales in Japan attest to that, since it's got so many "Hunter" clones on it already with a firm playerbase. Also ad-hoc on it and the portability helps sell the "let's do some missions right now."
All of these generalizations are destroying my brain cells and I hope people will invest some time into it and attempt to inhabit the perspective of the game before talking.

Just simply allowing you to play 1 vs 2 mode would have made this game much better. The best memories I have of DBZ games were playing with my two brothers on Budokai 3 and BT3. Forcing you to have to play CPU or with online was a big flaw to me.

Same, and I've only played the demo. If I had the spare cash right now, I would've gotten it day 1.LordMoonstone wrote:I played through the entirety of the main story missions and I haven't had that much fun with a Dragon Ball game in years.
Speaking of which, are the connection issues when playing the demo less of an issue in the final game? Do you get the pre-earned trophies when you port the demo save?LordMoonstone wrote: in upper-tier fights it's nothing like the demo experience.

When Battle of Z loses its ability to play online (Silver Xbox members can't already) then the game isn't much more than what the Story Mode and Training Mode offer, once that's done the game's finished.radrappy wrote:I'm right there with you. Beat the same four cloned enemies (due to forced 4v4 team fights), share your energy and then hit the remaining enemy with it then repeat it for the rest of the story mode. Wait, you call this fun? Okay, it's your opinion, I get it.LordMoonstone wrote:I played through the entirety of the main story missions and I haven't had that much fun with a Dragon Ball game in years.
The worst part about it is when they get hit the animation is always the same one and to top it off the characters look so bland and emotionless. Wow, what a great game this is... NOT.

I do wish the gameplay of Battle of Z had been what I was expecting instead of a shitty extremely limited 2 button masher. I'd rather play Smash Bros. Melee which is a deeper fighting brawler than this will ever be.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
Okay, even though I like the game and think it's fun, I'm not gonna say this out of defense for it. And if you were one of the people who had high expectations for the game but ended up not liking it, then you know this doesn't pertain to you.
I just wanna say seeing some of the negative comments really makes me wish I was never associated with this fanbase for too long. And now, NOW some of yall wanna sit there and say you want Spike back after what you guys said ("I'm tired of the same shit", "Namco Bandai doesn't care about us") and did (didn't buy any of the RB games). See this is what I keep on saying over and over again, it's EVERYONE'S FAULT for things that are the way it is now, but right now, I'm talking about most of you fans out there and here's something that I keep on saying many times now.
Ya see. Sure, it's half Namco's fault for fucking up once again, but the fact that the fans are just gonna sit there and cry and play the victim saying "we never want this, we want Spike or Dimps back", "Story's out of order" and didn't get either Burst Limit or both of the RB games REALLY pisses me off! You see Treevax, he may be off the wall like the rest of them at times(no offense Treevax if you read that), but at least he specifies the good and the bad in the games before crying about it. THAT'S WHAT WE FANS NEED TO DO OR SHOULD'VE DONE BACK WHEN RAGING BLAST 2 WAS AROUND! NOW that this game might sell poorly, there might be nothing they can do at this point but make a Tenkaichi collection and disappear. A RB3 or BT4 could've been the 2014 game for us instead of this, but nooooo, some people want it like the Naruto Storm games and this and that. And where was the credit for Ultimate Tenkaichi when they did most of the story parts right, huh? WHERE. WAS. IT?! Ugh!
I really do feel bad for NB, I really do. Looks like a "good" DBZ game will have to take more than two years. And this is goodbye for now, guys. Coming back until the hate calms down. Have fun ranting and wishing for this and that. *instant transmission*

Okay, so, I bought the game last night on Vita and I enjoy it so far. Am I to understand that there is no way to battle with two teams with CPU's that you've selected and select the stage? ...Or am I missing something here? I don't understand why I can't do Battle Mode without connecting to the internet...

Take BT3 and make the graphics HD (or take RB2), add way more content (reaply value is very important), and you'll have it. I'd say it'll take two month rather than two years.EXBadguy wrote:I really do feel bad for NB, I really do. Looks like a "good" DBZ game will have to take more than two years.

Re: "DBZ: Battle of Z" (360/PS3/Vita) On-Going Discussion Th
1- More characters: complete DB roster, missing movie characters and DBZ henchmen (Yakon, Pui Pui, Yamu, Kibito, Spice Boys, etc.), more GT characters (GT Goten, Ledgic, Luud, Goku Jr, Vegeta Jr, Mamba, etc.). That way you can even make battles such as hair attack vs. hair attack: Spice's hair manipulation vs. Mamba's hair manipulation.VegettoEX wrote:What exactly is this "content"...?
2- No doublon (Scouter Vegeta as the base form for a single Vegeta character with SS, SS2, etc.), but more costumes instead (The Path to Power skins as an alternate costume for the Red Ribbon chatacters, except for the giant Battle Jacket which has to be a character different from the regular Battle Jacket imo).
3- A maximum of 9 Super Attacks per characters (4 Blast 1, 4 Blast 2, 1 Ultimate Blast, which is possible if they add the Right and Left directions instead of just Up and Down when doing a Blast 1/2 attack). The characters who don't have that much attack in the show can just have 5 Super Attaks or less.
4- Spirit Bomb, Large Spirit Bomb, Super Spirit Bomb depending on how many time you charge the Spirit Bomb rather than pre-select one or the other. Same with Kaio-ken Attack and Kaio-ken Finish.
5- Different combo when using the directional stick while smashing the attack button.
6- Team Attacks.
7- More Battle Stages: there's a lot of setting missing. From other planets such as New Planet Vegeta to Earth's localisations such as the Red Ribbon Base or Gero's lab, and Other World locations (King Kai's planet, Snake Way, Other World Tournament Arena, Grand Kai's planet, etc.). With, why not, the possibility to switch arena ala Hyper Dimension for SNES.
+ Several other idea Treevax had for a RB3. All that kind of things that let you're imagination work while playing the game and which allow for more replay value.
