Dragonball was never about badass guys showing off their oiled muscles and doing nothing but fightning.

Also the whole point of the scene was that Vegeta was doing something he really feels umcomfortable with, just to save the planet. That's why it's funny in the first place.
It shows his character development because Cell Saga Vegeta would put his pride before his family, while Current Vegeta is open to put his family before his pride, which is a BIG thing for him!

You should, for one. He's trying to help you be an awesome person. While the homophobic slurs you used are (attributed to) your friends' outburst, you also asserted that there is "not one real man" here, so you apparently have no problem calling other people's masculinity into question over a gag scene in a children's cartoon you also happen to like. (And also, there are plenty of female fans here, against whom such insults have no effect.) That is the opposite of awesome; it's being a dick to a lot of people, some of whom are actually gay and would find your words quite hurtful.

Just be awesome to your fellow fans. That is all you need to know.

Not saying I disagree, but try telling that to 99% of its American fanbase.

Yeah, pretty much sums the show up right there.

Well, we have to thank the inaccurate Z dub for that!
Where i live, we got a much more faithful dub, so everybody knows the real spirit of the series. A lighthearted, carefree, martial arts series with the occasional tense or darker arc.

Look, i love the badass moments of the series as much as everybody else (SSJ transformations, everything Vegeta does, Broly roflstomping everything, Freeza in general, Gohan going SSJ2 and apeshit, harsh training sessions, giant explosions, long and painful beam clashes) but there are some people that think that's all the series is about.

That's why every fanwork has 10 new SSJ transformations, resurrected villains and we have jokes like "DBZ? You mean that show where everybody stares at each other transforming while doing nothing?".

To be fair, this joke would probably still be around even if the American dub was the most accurate dub ever.

Seriously. Not to sound like a dick, but this is the truth. OP here's posts literally look like a parody of what your average American DBZ fan it like at times. He's the PERFECT stereotype.

Honestly, OP. Stick to overtly macho nonsense like MD Geist. Seems like more your speed.

1.) It's an anime not an Cartoon... and I don't think it's intended to be a for children only.
2.) I said that I got too emotional... sorry for calling you guys feminine. lol
3.) If you like something else than the things I like, I am fine with that. Taste can vary(?), I also said that!
4.) It's a quote, stop being so butthurt.

Calm everybody, let's not get too mad over words.

I have no idea what you're trying to say.

It's still a cartoon regardless of whatever language you choose to use. Being of Japanese origin doesn't equate to a maturity level or dictate that it's 'not only for kids'.

No actually. Objectively speaking, he's correct. Sorry if that fact makes you feel insecure watching Japanese kids cartoons, but it's the truth.

I'm sorry, exactly how was it 'just wrong'?

Anime by very definition is a cartoon. There might be differences in themes and style depending on their origin but they're still cartoons.

Dragon Ball is a shonen anime. It's aimed for young kids - it might have some themes in there that make it suitable for adults but it doesn't change what it is.

Vegeta acted like that to protect his wife and son. His love for his family has become his weakness, but also his greatest strength, as we saw after Beerus slapped Bulma and he became even more powerful than SSJ3 Goku.

No, he's entirely correct. Japanese cartoons are called Anime in the west. All specifying terms aside, Anime stills falls under the umbrella of cartoons.

In other words, anime is japanese cartoons. Therefore, its a cartoon, just a specific one from a certain place. Its basically the same as saying french cartoons, only of japan instead of france.

On my country we call comics Tebeos (or used to call them that), and they are no different from manga or comic.

Comic, manga, anime, cartoon, tebeo they are just differnet names for different languages. The product is the same.

Dragon Ball was aimed for young teens, maybe culturally in the usa they seem a bit more adult oriented but for japan that's a kids show, and personally I don't see anything wrong that needs to be censored for a kid. Kids tend to simplify what they don't understand, so it will hardly traumatize anyone.
