As for my personal opinion, I am not happy with the way FUNi has treated the series at all. Their fortune was made mostly off of DragonBall, a fortune that they frankly do not deserve.KingofWisdom wrote:Basically, DBZ will only stop being rereleased when it no longer makes a profit or when it's no longer worth the effort.

Soppa Saiyjins from Dorgou Ballru Zetto is my favorite transformation everah, especially when Trounksoru did it in front of Seru and when Bejita did it when he faced Jingonigen-hachigo. But for real, I use the FUNi pronunciation. - Soppa Saia People

I know Funimation gets a lot of dislike on here but they do have to please a very broad crowd. At least they've acknowledged the difficulty of pleasing multiple audiences who all happen to be fans of Dragon Ball Z and the greater DB universe.AnimeMaakuo wrote:As for my personal opinion, I am not happy with the way FUNi has treated the series at all. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

While I agree FUNimation doesn't always treat the series with the respect it deserves, you can't really expect them not to do it, They were founded because of Dragon Ball, and considering how infamous ti has become, it only makes sense for them to treat like they have, as badly as it is. And I wouldn't be surprised if we get more kinds of releases in the future. Honestly, I don't expect them to stop unless they lose the license.

Re: Dragon Ball Z "Seasons" On Blu-ray: News & Discussion
You take the good with the bad. They very obviously had fans in mind with the Level sets which I truly think is the best the series has ever looked (And may always remain like that) but it was obviously too expensive of a process to continue. Am I unhappy with it? Absolutely. But they can't rely on us alone. They have to keep the lowest common denominator happy in order to stay in business. The casual fan doesn't care about aspect ratio or frame jitter. They just want the show on whatever format they use. They want a fast and cheap release and that's what FUNi is giving to them. Unfortunately, cleaning up their 2007 widescreen masters is the easiest way to do that, and clearly it's not a huge deal to the casual audience. If anything, good sales on these sets may very well convince FUNimation to continue the Level sets. Hardcore fans may have to take a backseat, but the fact that we're even acknowledged says something about the company. No matter how you look at it, FUNi is the reason we even have a subtitled Dragon Box release. We asked; they listened. I can't think of any other anime localization teams that would've also gone through that effort.AnimeMaakuo wrote:As for my personal opinion, I am not happy with the way FUNi has treated the series at all. Anyone know how long Amazon usually keeps their items under review? I've been wanting to order this season Blu-ray for the past few days and its still under review.

So, not that I support these releases, but pre-order away!

Idiots found a way to capitalize off people(If their that dumb) until Amazon gets whatever problem sorted out. I hate when stuff like this happens. I hate people that do that more than anything because all they do is destroy the markets and make stupid people think that's what their item is worth thus making problems worse. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Blu-r ... +z+blu+rayI'm insaneFromEarth wrote:Ummm, why is the Price on Amazon like this for Season one? new from $137.99 used from $89.96. What's funny is goHastings is 1 of the companies or whatever that screwed me over on a DVD. I ordered a History Channel DVD called ''The plague'' they didn't have it so they sent me some random ass movie called ''The Plague'' I called and I was pretty mad that they tried to pull that crap with me. they told me to keep the dvd and they gave my money back but I was pretty mad that they thought that I would just be happy with the dvd they sent me.

Hey guys. Little side question here, it does relate to the Thread because I planned on doing a comparison piece between the Season 1 Blu-ray, Season 1 DVD, Kai Blu-ray, and Level Blu-ray. However... I have Cyberlink PowerDVD (it plays Blu-ray) but can't take screenshots of it. Is there a program that would let me take screenshots of these things?

You can navigate to the actual video streams inside the Blu-Ray just using Windows Explorer and that'll let you open the individual files in programs like VLC that have screenshot features.TheGreatness25 wrote:Hey guys. Thank you for the prompt response, but it doesn't play anything.

Try downloading the Combined Community Codec Pack if it still won't play in VLC.

When you get to the menu that AjayLikesGaming showed you arrange the files by size. There are a lot of files in the stream folder the large ones contain the actual episodes.TheGreatness25 wrote:Thank you for the prompt response, but it doesn't play anything.

If the Bluray has encryption on it, wouldn't the files need to be decrypted and ripped first?qjz123 wrote:When you get to the menu that AjayLikesGaming showed you arrange the files by size. I've been really tempted to pick up the blu-ray sets once Amazon gets the first one back in stock. I just don't know if I should since I already have all the orange bricks, Dragon Boxes, and Kai on DVD. From what I hear the quality is pretty good, but I don't know if it'd be worth the extra investment.

None of the discs he's trying to use this method on do though. I own them all and have had zero issues.
