James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Those Kai BDs and Dragon Box Z DVDs' scans were scanned by me I think, that is if they also include the reversible covers and pamphlets.

Here's an extra: https://mega.co.nz/#!LExA0RaT!ci8YJk-x_ ... GbDvwVOXCo (DBGT FUNimation Singles 1-21)

I found that I have some of the covers you're after which are custom Dragon Box HQ covers.

DB - Incomplete
DBZ - Incomplete
DBGT - Complete
DB:TM - Complete

Also got archived the cover of Goku and Friends Return from the R2J release. In total 29MB and each consume like 3-4mbs each.

I'll up 'em tomorrow. Glad I remembered so you can have them as you want/need.

I don't know if this counts, but it would also be nice to have scans of the Dragon Box single DVD covers as well!!

Has anyone done this? I'm very interested making these for my backups and I was looking at getting DVD cases, blank DVDs, and I noticed 8.5 X 11 sheets of paper are too tall and wide to fit in the plastic around DVD cases. Should I print the image on a standard sheet of printer paper, and just cut them down, or is there a specific type of paper that best serves for DVD cases?

Also, I noticed that the spines in that picture seem a little thin. Will the completed spine image be as smooth as in the above picture? If anyone's done this, I'd love to see a real life picture of them!

Thanks in advance!

Nice! I went in and adjusted them too, ended up with pretty great results!

I'm so excited to get going with making the backups! I'm gonna need LOTS of DVD's...

Oh and by the way, what's in the fourth case? (Next to the three GT cases)

This been's bugging my mind but why don't you guys just use fat-packs instead? They can store a whole lot more discs and consume less space.

DB UK Blue Boxes will be 22 discs = 2 fat-packs (12-disc set box)
GT Singles 21 discs so same set-up as the above

Sure it looks cool but you've got to take into account if that's going to look as good as it does digitally, so to say it'd need to be printed & cropped carefully.

Something like this below:

It looks pretty legit but they're still custom boxes.

I use the 6 disc cases because I had a while bunch laying around. I do want to do that for my Rock the Dragon and maybe Dbox four moc singles :D

If I do end up doing it for Dragon Ball, Id use the outbox as a cover :D Also, how do I print the 12 disc cover art to scale?

The case is a custom made dragon box GT Dragon book moc. Not 100% accurate though :P
