For your first post. Yeah you got me confused with someone else. This is my first time commenting my opinion on the Kai quality. I never said that the remaster level was lower. I'm saying the quality was lower. That's because Saiyan and Freeza arc looked better in Z so naturally the Kai version will look better. Which is why I asked I wonder how Boo arc will look with Kai's remaster. Since Boo Arc in Z looked great IMO. Hope that clear things up.VegettoEX wrote:Man, maybe I am. Sorry about that, if so! The point remains, though, right? Totally in disbelief over this viewpoint.
Show me the evidence that the Cell arc was somehow lower-quality in terms of its visual remastering than the prior episodes, and I'm all for accepting said viewpoint. That being said... no-one seems to be able to do so.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
Well, I'm glad that the Boo Saga is going to be Kai-ified. However, I heard that Kenji Yamamoto won't be the composer anymore for the Kai series due to having copyright from having stole from many things, allegedly. I'm basically saying from what I read in the past. Although I enjoyed the score that Kenji Yamamoto did for the Kai franchise, I also think it could have been better. Regardless, I enjoyed the Japanese composing from the original series.

This was the first news I saw when I came home from class today. I'm looking forward to it.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
We already got a topic about it, but I'm looking forward to how much the arc's going to get axed. Buu is 80+ episodes Other World Tournament to Ending, I would not be surprised if we got something in the region of 10 episodes chopped if Toei makes their cuts right, possibly more depending on how much of the (relatively little) pure filler Buu has goes entirely. Buu is friggin' long.
That and the usual question of how Super Buu is going to sound like in English with no voice filter and how Justin Cook has been playing the role in newer video games. I don't expect Josh Martin's Fat Buu to get tossed.

I don't care about Kai to be honest. It's a lazy remake compared to FMA Brotherhood or HunterxHunter 2011.
Which it's a shame, since Dragon Ball is the most popular anime/manga worlwide and deserved a better treatment. I'm glad its back because it helps keeping the franchise alive but Ultimate Tenkaichi cutscenes > Kai.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Hmmm......well, in my opinion, other than the last shot of Gohan, I thought the Ultimate Tenkaichi shots looked better too.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:

Sorry, but you have a bad artistic taste. It's not even a matter of personal preferences.TheBlackPaladin wrote:Hmmm......well, in my opinion, other than the last shot of Gohan, I thought the Ultimate Tenkaichi shots looked better too.

I agree with your preference, but "artistic taste" is as subjective as it goes.kei17 wrote:Sorry, but you have a bad artistic taste. It's not even a matter of personal preferences.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
Kai in this case literally means, revised, recut, remade, [insert synonym here]. I actually prefer the name Z Kai for this reason. But titling it Dragon Ball Kai, that's misleading. It's missing a whole chunk of story i.e. 'Dragon Ball'.FortuneSSJ wrote:In other words, a remake. A poor remaster.Luso Saiyan wrote:It's not a remake to begin with. Re: Buu Saga Kai
Battle of Gods style music for the Buu arc? I can dig it. It's not music that changed my life but at least it wasn't ripped off from other creative forces.
Re: Buu Saga Kai
The Ultimate Tenkaichi scenes don't seem all that bad outright, but I can see in comparison to the show they'd seem lifeless. Those two shots of Cell... the video game one is sort of devoid of personality and really angular. Not a fan of the way his mouth is drawn.

The Ultimate Tenkaichi version is artistically inferior in every way. I can explain why in detail, but that'd be off-topic.Luso Saiyan wrote:I agree with your preference, but "artistic taste" is as subjective as it goes.kei17 wrote:Sorry, but you have a bad artistic taste. Anyway, I prefer recycled animation over something made worse by an old animator who completely lost the edge he used to have.

Since it can often be difficult to translate tone over the internet, please know that I don't ask this in any confrontational/offended sense. I ask this out of curiosity. This nonsense that touching up and shuffling the same assets constitutes a remake needs to be shown the door. Can't call it a remake when nothing new is being made- just artfully subtracted, even if to a positive effect.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
Why would Sean Schemmel lie?? I can understand Sabat lying to wait for official announcement, but Sean's lie on the other hand seems like it would be quite counterproductive and a bad PR move in my opinion.
If they never had even bought the Buu Saga, what would they gain from making us think otherwise?
