That is correct.

Your point stands, but technically it is not correct. Chris runs his own company called Okratron 5000. The majority of his projects are FUNimation related and he has close, well established working relationships with everyone at the company, but he is not a full time employee. If you call FUNimation's phone number and try to reach him through their phone tree you will not be able to. Trust me, I tried for years until I developed more creative methods and finally established contact.

Forgive me then for taking someone elses intelligent sounding comment as proof :P It still has more meaning coming from him, then any of the other VAs. Although when you break it down, nothing outside of a "Yes!" means anything.

I know the VA's are freelance, but Chris does more for them than that.

That is why I took that other comment at face value. Time will tell. I just wish I could kill that sucker faster (sucker being the time).... Hmmm.

I hopped on the NickToons message boards and it brings me pain inside my heart to see that the little kids really want Kai back, but keep getting shut down by other members . :(

Are they getting shut down by what Christopher Sabat told me / us? If so that makes me feel sad. Especially if it turns out to not be true.

Now that it's official, just looking at that official announcement with Super Saiyan 3 Goku and the Dragon Ball Kai logo again, I can't help it: I'm feeling terribly excited to get back to those weekly episodes and discover what they edited out, what the new soundtrack will be, and see the new openings, ending and many eyecatches!

Let's bet: if they don't use Hero (Song of Hope) for the opening and Orange Hero for the ending (releasing the full version of Orange Hero on the soundtrack for the first time), I wouldn't be surprised if they hired Flow again to make a new song anyway! 8) But we'll see, they might use the Dragon Soul singer for continuity reasons too!

I'd prefer it if they kept Takayoshi Tanimoto for the Kai songs. Takahashi and Hashimoto have DB, Kageyama has DBZ, Tanimoto should get to keep Kai. I do enjoy him (mainly because I'm a Digimon fan), but also because I'm a big consistency nut. Hell, I kinda hope they're a little lazy and just keep "Dragon Soul" as the opening (with all-new animation, of course). The other Kai singers would be fine as well for insert/image songs, just as long as they don't let Yō Yamazaki anywhere near a microphone...

I've been thinking. I'm really, really glad this is airing in Japan. I know I have no basis for this, but in the back of my mind, I was always worried that Toei would cut even more corners than usual for an international-only version of Kai. No newly animated openings/endings, no new songs, that kind of stuff. Now that it's airing in the homeland, we can at least start hoping for a new soundtrack release (maybe even new character songs!).

I just created my username and went in the Nicktoons message board. I told them about Kanzenshuu since this site is #1 source of reliable information. Hopefully a moderator will approve my post and made it known to everyone.

I'm really surprised they haven't asked me for my birthyear. I hope it's a good thing because the message board on Nicktoons is terrible, but it's to be expected anyway since the message board is for kids, after all. :P

I'm so excited to watch the continuation of a hacked-up version of a show I've already watched a bunch of times!

No, seriously, I am! I can be sarcastic AND genuinely excited at the same time, dammit. Looking forward to both the Japanese and (eventual) English versions of this. It's unfortunate that a lot of the Kai performances on the Japanese side weren't up to the level of Z, but then there were isolated scenes where they outdid themselves in Kai (I mean, Ryou Horikawa's performance of Vegeta's death scene was good in Z, but it was heartbreaking in Kai). I'd love to be able to have more scenes that let us debate whether the Z or Kai version is better, rather than defaulting to "eh, everyone's older and less energetic in Kai, so Z version is better" (talking strictly about voice acting here...obviously all of the redrawn scenes were awful)

And once Funimation officially announces that they're dubbing this (because, let's face it, they can say they're not dubbing it but they're going to dub it...because of the implication), we can all wildly speculate about casting changes and all that (not that we haven't already started). I'm looking forward to watching it with an improved script over DBZ. Here's hoping this time they're giving themselves enough time so they don't make stupid mistakes like the earlier episodes of Kai (like Dende saying that Namekians are all the same gender, then a couple minutes later mentioning his Namekian "brothers and sisters"...the fuck?).

Oh, I almost forgot about the music! I hope that the new soundtrack is memorable. I do like a lot of the tracks from Battle of Gods, so it's good that they're bringing back the same composer for Kai. I'd like to have new theme songs (and opening/closing animation), but what I want most of all is new character songs! Yes, I'm a HUGE sucker for character songs, and it'd be great to have some more. I'm thinking a cute duet between Trunks and Goten is just what the world needs.

So glad for this but the long wait for the season blu ray releases begins (They are going to do them right?).

I'm guessing they have enough material for season 5 and 6.

Of course they will.

In fairness, Sabat mentioned on Facebook that they noticed that error after the fact and tried to fix it for the home video release...but couldn't do it in time.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Crazy excited for this. We've been waiting for an official announcement for so long, I had to do a double take when I saw the news story on the main page. Can't wait for the Japanese broadcast as well as the dub.

I'm so excited to have a new opening featuring Gohan, Goten and Trunks in the style of We Gotta Power! I hope it's Tanimoto again too, I really liked his work in Dragon Soul and Yabure Kabure. Also a new ED song that is hopefully nothing nearly as bad as Kokoro no hane. I'm an AKB48, but even I thought it was crap...
