I agree with you except for that last part. I'm a long time Transformers fan and have been on many forums over the years. Sorry, but Geewunners aren't an actual thing. That's just a childish attempt by Bayformers apologists to shame anyone with legitimate criticisms.

I think he means the Pokémon 'Genwunners'. Usually scoff at anything that isn't Green/Red/Blue/Yellow and sometimes Gold/Silver/Crystal despite those being Gen 2.

No, no. It usually that the only exception to loving Gen 1 to the point that 'Genwunners' do is giving a free pass to Johto (just 'cause it's on the Gameboy and usually for no reason other than nostaliga. I've only met a few people that actually articulated why they loved it without nostaliga bias) but hating anything from Ruby/Sapphire-XY (well except remakes). I like Gen 2 as well, but I think Gen 4 did it better with the remakes. You can legitimately love Gen 1 and 2, but for some people it's just 'cause of nostalgia. "Pokémon now aren't creative", which annoys the hell out of me 'cause some of the laziest designs were in Gen 1, but get a pass due to being 'the original'. The engine in Red/Blue is so broken compared to now. I've been playing Pokémon as long as I've been watching DBZ, never stopped either of them. I've played it in English and Japanese.

I love Kai! Not just for being in HD, but I prefer to watch that than rewatch 5 episodes of a Kamehameha battle and no filler. Also, it's easy for my son to get into and watch with me. That's what's got him hooked on the series and now constantly asking "Daddy, can I watch you play Battle of Z pleaseeeeeeee?"

You can legitimately love Gen 1 and 2, but for some people it's just 'cause of nostalgia. "Pokémon now aren't creative", which annoys the hell out of me 'cause some of the laziest designs were in Gen 1, but get a pass due to being 'the original'. 

I love Generation 2 and Generation 1. I love the original 151 pokèmon, and i think even pokèmon like Dugtrio and Magneton are good (Kling Klang on the another hand is a lazy design, because unlike Magneton and Dugtrio, it's not even original stacking on top of each other, just gears) original designs.

My favourite Gen is Generation 3 (Sapphire was my first pokèmon game), and i think the designs are some of the best in the series.

My least favourite Gen is Generation 4, and that's mainly because Sinnoh was too annoying to explore with so many HMs needed, because i think the designs were lazy (A honeycomb pokèmon? Seriously?), and most of the new pokemon were rehashes like babymons and/or fodder pokes made just to fill the pokedex in that had NO USE in competitive battles. (Seriously, except the obvious starters, legendaries, Staraptor, Lucario, Bronzong, Abomasnow, Eevelutions ecc. the rest of the Gen IV pokedex was really composed of weak pokèmon that nobody ever cared about using in battle.), and the in-game story was nothing special. I liked the new combat mechanics and physical/special split, but the rehashes killed it for me.


On the other hand, i think Generation 5 is great, there are many cool designs unlike Generation 4, a lot of pokemon are really strong and can be used competitively fairly well, and the in-game story was really original and fresh.

And from what i have seen of Gen 6, it looks great because it balanced the cast and now many old weak pokèmon now are usable thanks to Megaevolutions, new moves, increases in stats and the new fairy type.

So yeah, i think Genwunners are retarded to not see an improvement in the overall series. Althrought i think the Genwunners movement started during Generation 4, so i can't really blame them, that Generation was really freaking bad and lame.
